it faces sadovaya street on the one side and offers a nice park on that side as well. the other facade is to fontanka and hidden behind a wall surrounding a courtyard. one of the many yusupov palaces in petersburg (I know of three: moika, sadovaya, liteyniy).

Which I am about to spoil...... the entry to the basement in down a small winding staircase which I found a little difficult - but I was determined to see and so managed it. (osteoarthritis makes stairs difficult) The surprise was the interior theatre where the family would watch performances with their invited guests.The kind lady attendant on duty beckoned... More

This was the last stop on a 2 day whirlwind cruise ship tour through Alla Tours. After seeing all kinds of amazing places, this was a let down for our last stop. It is a decent place, and especially the "home theater" was pretty amazing, but this can't compete with the Hermitage and St Isaacs Cathedral or Church Over Spillef... More
