We (a family of nine including three teens, four adult children, two grandparents ages 64 and 66) spent two days touring St. Petersburg with Tatiana Collins in June of 2017. I posted a review about that visit sometime after we returned home. But today I can't locate it on the Travel Advisor site (only here because friends are going to Russia and I recommended Tatiana) I decided to write it again. I had to select June of 2019 as the date of our trip since 2017 isn't an available choice. Tatiana was wonderful, speaks better English than I do, and is a font of information on everything Russian, from the art and treasures, the palaces and churches to simple things like where at lunchtime to get a great blini made right in front of you, to a Russian grocery store to get an idea of what's available to Russians (everything), and a tour of a couple of the spectacular subway stations in St. Petersburg. We saw all the typical beautiful, historic museums and palaces, but we also had a meal in a Russian restaurant with two young Russians. We were able to talk to them and hear their views on life in Russia, and what they thought about world news and the US, not necessarily what we hear on our newscasts. Tatiana talked about life under Communism, and we saw apartments still occupied built by Khrushchev. On another day we had a sampling of vodka at another place. I have walking difficulties and can't stand long, so she had a wheelchair for me which meant I didn't miss seeing anything. In the van Tatiana rented she had everything from rain ponchos to snacks and bottled water so that whatever we needed she had for us. Our daughter-in-law made a visit to a Russian pharmacy with Tatiana to get something she needed. I honestly cannot think of anything we might have needed she did not provide. And although she suggested an itinerary which could be done during our two day stop (off a cruise ship) in St. Petersburg, when I asked to add different things she was very, very willing to make those arrangements. You will be so very glad you arranged to tour St. Petersburg with Tatiana Collins! Like me, you'll say her fee was the best travel money you ever spent!

If you are looking for a truly memorable St. Petersburg tour, look no further than Tatiana. She was born and raised in this beautiful city. In addition, she is a college history graduate. You are in good hands! My husband and I had a two day tour which was not only fun but educational. I challenge you to ask her a question related to St. Petersburg, she does not know.

We HIGHLY recommend Tatiana!! She's committed to providing the customized tour that meets your group's unique needs! Our family of four spent two days touring the incredible sights of St. Petersburg, from the Hermitage to Peterhof. Tatiana's expert planning allowed us to maximize our time (with minimal to no time spent in lines or stuck behind big tour groups). Her communication in advance was terrific, asking about our interests, mobility, food preferences, length of days, etc. Tatiana had all of the details arranged in advance – including visas, priority entrance tickets, private driver, restaurant reservations. We chose to pack a lot into our itinerary, but Tatiana would also customize an itinerary to suit your interests and pace. Tatiana is very fluent in English and is extremely knowledgeable about history, architecture, politics, art, and culture. I especially enjoyed hearing her account of growing up in Russia and the significant ways in which Russian life has changed. Because we had our 11-year old son with us, Tatiana’s daughter Lisa joined us! Lisa is cheerful, informative, and great with kids. She came prepared to engage our son with games and offered kid-friendly versions of the tour info, allowing the adults to focus on Tatiana's rich and informative overview without interruption. It was time and money well spent! When we left St. Petersburg, I felt like we were saying goodbye to good friends. If Tatiana is available, book her and Lisa. You won’t be disappointed!

Having read other reviews here, we booked Tatiana and her daughter Liza for a day to show us the highlights of St Petersburg. And what a brilliant day it was! Liza was wonderfully engaging with our children (5 and 7), keeping them entertained with stories and activities like launching paper boats into the Neva. Meanwhile Tatiana had my wife and I engrossed with her enthusiasm, comprehensive historical knowledge and personal perspectives. We all learned and experienced far more than we expected, and both the children and the adults voted it the highlight of our two-week summer holiday.

Tatiana and her fifteen year old daughter Liza are a joy to be with and made our family trip to St. Petersburg a magical experience we will never forget. When she heard we would be traveling with our 7 and 9 year old sons, Tatiana offered to bring Liza along on our tour in order to help keep them entertained. Liza brought a backpack full of gifts and prizes and fun home made activities so Luke and Ryan instantly fell in love with her. While Liza spent time with the boys reenacting famous naval battles or telling stories at all the locations we visited, my wife and I were able to focus on the incredible sights, history and culture of the city. Tatiana steered us beautifully from one site to the next all the while delivering expert color commentary and texture we would never have experienced had we visited the city by ourselves. We are not typically big fans of guided tours preferring instead to explore and find our own way but retaining Tatiana and Liza was the best travel decision we have made in a long time. Tatiana is funny, warm intelligent and practical, happy to infuse her expert command of Russian history and politics with thoughtful commentary about everyday society and the lives of her countrymen. I can say unequivocally that I have never had a more enjoyable tour experience in my life. We were only with Tatiana and Liza for two days but the hours were jam packed with activities, fantastic sites and fun local food from one end to the other and when it came time to leave them we were actually quite emotional because we had grown so attached to these wonderful people. We hope they will come and visit us some day! Tatiana is a treasure and we highly recommend her to anyone planning to visit St. Petersburg, thank you Tatiana and Liza, we miss you!
