Well, not sure about the cathedral, but the river island is the nicest part of Kaliningrad. Walkable and enjoyable enough.

Big church organ. many displays. Used to be a cathedral before WWII bombing. Beautifully restored. I. Kant is buried there.

The building is impressive, the surroundings (a shabby park and a somewhat puzzling and unremarkable collection of assorted statues) -- not so much. To catch an organ concert should be a high priority. During my visit, the young organist was competent, but not memorable. At the end of the final concert piece, above the pipes, the little cherubs turn! The... More

I liked the Cathedral. Much of Kaliningrad centre has changed since WW2. Konigsberg was heavily bombed in 1944-45 and most buildings were ruined shells at the end of the war. Certain original features still remain. The Cathedral has the only Orthodox and Lutheran chapels, existing in the same room. This is unique and has a special atmosphere inside.

Went to an organ concert at 2 pm. Apparently there are concerts here frequently. It is the only opportunity to see inside the Cathedral. The museum did not have any English description.

14th century Gothic style cathedral set in a lovely part of town, so enjoy the walk in the park and take the time. You will need to pay to see the cathedral. On the back corner of the Cathedral is Kant's grave. During the WW2 the cathedral suffered significant damage. Check the Cathedral programme for future events.

I had the luck to catch a Bach concert on a Saturday noon and hear the wonderful & unique organ - one of Europe's largest! A Cathedral - museum, with two churches - a Catholic to the right, and an Orthodox to the left of the entrance.

Beautiful cathedral in a nice green park It is very big and can be seen from far away. A nice place to stroll around for a few hours. Payment for entering the cathedral and going up to the top is separate. You will need to pay twice.
