The “stroll” lasts exactly an hour and during this time you may “pass” according logically build route the whole historical center of the town look into town windows of the shops, cafes, pharmacies (the museum windows are designed in the form of street windows), to bargain at the fish market, and at the end of the stroll, just by one step come from a virtual park to find yourself in a real landscape park spreading across the bounds of Friedland gate and made on the place of former fortifications.

This museum is converted from one of the old Konigsburg' s city gates. The highlight is a short film showing images from the old city in the 1930s. Also on display are some artifacts of that time, such as stamps, cookwares, camera, telephone, drinks, etc....More

Six small-ish exhibition halls depicting the daily life of pre-war Koenigsbergers, from medieval times to 1945. An assortment of Koenigsberg-themed etchings, watercolors, furniture, household objects, work implements etc. Quite nicely arranged. Dont miss trying out the old stamp. A highlight of the museum is a...More

Was okay, the museum could have been laid out a lot better. I'm sure more worthwhile as a local visitor but a bit disappointing as a non-Russian visitor. The external gate is quite impressive the inside not so much.

Located in the old city gates. Houses the exhibits illustrating different ages - from the Theutonia armoury to cinema tickets of the early 30s. Nice holographic film demonstrated at noon. Tram tours on the historic trams also available.

Well, this was a bit of a disappointment. There are a few artefacts to see, but the main thing is the video of old Königsberg (which is a bit too long in fact). There rest of the museum is pretty much basic or not interesting,...More

Helpful staff despite the language difficulty. A variety of exhibits, enough for them to stop coaches here. Only c/o was that the film did not start on time.

You can get some information in English about the exposition. There is also a movie that takes you through the old streets of Konigsberg, which looked like a beautiful old city. It is hard to imagine that you're in the same place when you're walking...More

This museum was really good in showing how koningsberg once looked like. This is done in an 'multimedia' show. You sit on the old street below the gate and on the wall of the gate a film is projected that shows you with the help...More
