There was a performance going on, so it looked great

Donkeys that are painted so you can take pictures with them. Not crowded in the daytime but at night for a show, packed.

This is a town square for festivals and fairs, people watching and relaxing as well. If nothing is going on, there are two groups of sculptures and the memorial to the Fighters for the Soviet Power stands on the centre of the square to keep you company. We didn't stayed long on that day, just took a few photos. Happy... More

I passed through the square many times just because first of all, it was a nice place to get away from climbing the hills :) However, the square is the heart of the city with the impressively larger monument of past fighters of the Soviet power . Along with the backdrop of Russian architecture, the bridge, the old Soviet supermarket..,... More

this place is the heart of the city! It has locals visiting the war memorial, couples spending time together, kids playing, birds chirping....its a place everyone visits and everyone loves!

I passed by Central Square on my walking/bus ride tour of the city. It was very interesting. I enjoy learning about other cultures and their history.

This park is within easy walking distance of the port and other main attractions in Vladivostok. Its worth a short visit to see the huge bronze statues and monument to fighters for soviet power in the far east. Its interesting from a historical point of view to see what was a soviet propaganda piece in days gone by. Today people... More

As a square, central square is nothing special. Some of the buildings are beautiful, but you will not choose coming to Vladivostok just to see this square. In it you have the memorial to the soviet fighters, the monument to the city as "city of military glory", the Vladivostok GUM is visible in one corner, another modern building on the... More

This square is not much to speak of on a regular day. If you can time your trip with something happening here though, be sure to visit the Square! I happened to be here on Defenders' Day when the military were celebrating in the square. There were exhibits of Russian tanks but, more interestingly, were the demonstrations/ shows. I saw... More

There is no historical value at the monument, the Communists have taken down a beautiful park that was when we in this place, and put this building from time to time "to lay the heroic deed," there were Soviet parades, shows, exhibitions, competitions, the "heroes" of the Soviet epic - partisans - or rather, a gang who arranged: the expropriation,... It is not a pretty square lined with trees or park benches to while away some quiet time in the shade. Flanked by busy roads and broken concrete surrounding some parts it has a strategic place in the heart of this bustling city. There are a few delightful renovated and painted historical buildings across the road from the square. The huge... More
