Customizable Golden Ring Tour

5 reviews
A fully customizable and budget-friendly tour of the Golden Ring. Visit the destinations of your choice and draw up your own itinerary. It can be just a day trip to Sergiev Posad, Rostov Veliky, Pereslavl-Zalessky or a multi-day journey to Vladimir and Suzdal, Yaroslavl and all the way to Kostroma. Or maybe you'd love to see one of the lesser touristy places like Yuriev-Polsky and Alexandrov, Kolomna or Borovsk? It's up to you! Just pick the desired option.

Since I'm not a licensed travel guide, I will rather be your driver and travel companion during sightseeing providing all the necessary assistance whenever you need it. No boring history lectures or tight schedules, explore everything at your own pace!

My car is a Subaru Outback in great condition, perfectly comfortable for 3 passengers but can accommodate 4 (with less comfort, obviously).

There are actually more than one of these if you walk along the embankments of the Volga and Kotorosol. I'm told that the one near the boat docks is the "real" one with special meaning to the locals (it's a must stop at point for newlyweds) The entire area is actually quite nice, but still, this is just a nice place for photos, or people watching.

A little romantic spot with beautiful views of the Volga river. Legend says that if you kiss you beloved, you shall never be parted. A sweet little addition to a beautiful stroll down the river.

We could see this white columned circular structure from a good distance away as we walked along the embankment toward the Assumption Church. As we got closer we could see that couples had placed locks on the wrought iron fence that surrounded it. This structure reminded me of a small Greek temple perched on a cliff with a view. Here the view was the Strelka Park and the Yaroslavl Millennium Monument.at the far end. Beyond that slender monument, the many green domes of the St. John Baptist Church could be seen. From this pavilion, excellent pictures could be taken of all three of these sights. While the stark white pavilion may have looked out of place in a city like Yaroslavl that celebrates its long history, Russians have borrowed the architecture of other European countries for their palaces so why not a pavilion too?

A good vantage point above the Strelka Fountains, the local guides tell that if you kiss your loved one here, you will never be parted, but that apart, there is not much to make you seek out this small Greek Style building as there are various other viewpoints with just as good views.
