I was working in Moscow and decided to send my wife and daughter on this guided walking trip around the city to see the sights and then when I was free they were going to show me around. The guide was Sergey, a very polite and well educated young man who gave my girls the best tour of the city and an insight into the history and culture of the whole area, from food, to museums, the secretive past of old Russia to the new openness of the Putin regime and all from the perspective of a native. They were away on the tour for 4 hours and the guide had included all the metro tickets and entry into the Kremlin within the price of the tickets for the tour, so they didn't need to think about money or getting around, it was all in hand. Sergey spoke perfect English, Spanish, Russian and French, and he was very informative and attentive.
I was later taken on the tour by my wife and was amazed at the amount of things that had been covered, so I was treated to my own guided tour of Red Square, The Kremlin, St.Basils, GUM shopping Mall and many more sights, we also ventured by bus over the river to the hipster bar area of Red October and its cocktail bars and eateries, all fab and trendy, prices were good, around £50 for three people to eat two courses and drink some cocktails.
The Metro is awesome with great stations each with its own unique look and style, it works well and is very cheap, for 4 days we travelled around 30 times and it was only £8 for all the travel, by a card and top it up at the stations similar to London Oyster. The language is a barrier, but where possible the Russians will speak English and at least go out of their way to help with directions or information, most menu's are in English so eating and drinking is not an issue, we tried local food and delicacies was well as European foods, all were good quality and inexpensive. The whole city is clean and tidy, everything works well, and apart from the cold look to the people and the weather, it is a welcoming and trendy place to be. The shops though are very high end, nowhere before have I seen such glitz n glamour in the shopping streets, Monaco, Geneva, USA and all these pale in relation to the streets of Moscow, there are some very well heeled people walking around and this is Bourne out in the traffic on the roads all being Mercedes, BMW, Maybach, Rolls Royce, Bentley etc. The police are intimidating at first as everywhere that public can go there is Police attendance and every building has an airport style scanner in use with guards watching you, it makes you feel both safe and at the same time wonder what or why are they protecting and who from??
I would definitely return should the opportunity arise, it is an amazing place, the Red Square experience is mind blowing being stood amongst such historic buildings.
I would recommend the Tour for all ages and abilities as this is the best way to get the low down on all the questions you want to ask but thought you couldn't!! Ask for Sergey, he was superb....

Highly knowledgeable guide. We could ask any question, even related to historical relationships between our countries, and receive an interesting reply. We think it’s a must do experience when visiting Moscow for the first time.

This tour really covers everything within the Kremlin: the churches, the Armory and the Diamond fund, all of which are worth visiting. In order to pull this off, you need an excellent guide who can set the right pace, point out what to pay attention to, and answer the inevitable questions you will have. Our guide Alex not only did all of this, but was willing and able to answer questions about Russians' perspectives both on historic and current events.

The only disappointing aspect of our morning was that the tour company did not have a permit for our guide to provide specific information inside each church, so she was unable (i.e. not allowed) to point things out once inside (we saw other tours doing this).

Overall a terrific tour and given the importance of the Kremlin and the logistical complexity of getting tickets and finding your way around, definitely worth using a tour company (we generally like to do things by ourselves!) and having a good guide.

During our stay in Moscow we booked the Private Walking Tour of the Kremlin and Red Square with the Walking with Folks company.
What a brilliant time and experience we had mainly in part due to our fantastic guide Yulia.
She met us at the agreed time in our hotel lobby.
Then she took us on our guided tour.
She was excellent, informative and a joy to be in her company.
She answered all our questions and was helpful in giving us an understanding of modern Russian life. She even presented myself and wife with a small gift of chocolates.
Yulia gave us advice on places to eat and how to navigate the Metro system. Yulia is an asset to the company and would not hesitate to choose this company for any future visits

Used a company called Happy Moscow Tours. They have a wide variety of private tours available, priced a bit better than the others. This company is a group of 5 teachers who formed this business. They are prompt, reliable and knowledgeable. When you have seen all the old buildings and churches the subway stops should be next. If you do it by yourself you will miss a lot.

We are from US and had an excellent English speaking tour guide named Raimund, who met us at our hotel. The company, Walk with Folks, confirmed with me two days before. Love that! Raimund was super intelligent and also provided great context to the rise of these gems. We were on and off trains constantly and did not feel rushed, but there was a lot to see. Raimund designed an excellent tour and provided great history. He answered all questions. In my opinion he has a unique perspective having lived in both Munich, Germany and Moscow, and dual citizenship. Again, without Raimund's insight we'd be walking and saying that is nice, those are cool, but never understanding the importance of the influences that led to the creation and design of these metro stations which leads to a greater appreciation of the Soviet period and what followed. Oh Raimund is in his early 20s, but you would never know it based on his vast knowledge of Moscow and its history. Book this tour . . . you will not be disappointed. We were first time visitors in Moscow and looking forward to the next time. Fabulous place to visit.

We did 4 tours with them: 1) Kremlin & Red Square, 2)Moscow Must See by Car, 3)Moscow Metro Tours and 4) Radisson Boat Cruise.
We were happy with all our tour guides: Oksana, Valentina and Sergey. They were informative, interesting and able to answer our questions. Sergey was very caring and went above and beyond his role in being helpful.
Antonina in the back office was my main point of contact and she was very helpful and quick to reply.
Walks with Folks Moscow is good but their partners in St. Petersburg were disappointing.

I liked the tour with Oleg. He explained and taught me more about the past wars. I learned a lot today, and I loved the museum.

This is the perfect excursion if you are interested in WWII or want to gain some knowledge of Soviet history and culture during the war. I selected this private tour via Viator and although not cheap, it was well worth every penny. What made the experience so memorable was my guide Sergey. He met me at my hotel and we took the metro to the park and museum. He began the tour immediately and after a small chat he realized that I had an above average knowledge of WWII,so he instantly upped his game and re-tailored the tour. Upon arriving at the metro he explained its history and I learned interesting facts about a few of the stations we used. Once we arrived at the museum I realized Sergey knew both the park and museum inside and out so there is no wasted time waiting in lines or trying to find exhibits. He guided me through the exhibits that interested me the most and explained them in great detail, in flawless English. He answered all of my questions and explained not only the historical facts about the war but he also enlightened me to the culture and how the war affected society from a Russian perspective, it was fascinating. The almost four hour tour went by quickly and at the end Sergey offered to escort me back to my hotel. Although unnecessary it was a nice gesture. If you are looking to do something different during your visit to Moscow, checkout Viator's selection and be sure to visit Victory Park and Museum with Sergey!
