Our first visit to Moscow & was keen to try an authentic Russian experience. After reading the reviews & checking with our hotel concierge, we easily found Saduny Bath house. Its in an old building - interiors are old style & evokes an atmosphere that transports you back to bygone days. However - your reverie is quickly broken by the... More

I went on a Saturday morning, it was great fun. (Ladies side) The staff were friendly, and the manager spoke English. You change in a big room, and are allocated a sitting couch. I hired two towels (one for my head) and had a lovely herb massage. You can stay two hours. There is only the one (very hot) steam... More

Opened in 1808, I wanted to experience the authentic/historic/famous Sanduny baths while in Moscow. Actually, I had read that each item was an individual extra charge, so was going to wait until I was in a smaller town in russia to banya, but I was so sore from 20,000+step days that I decided to try to find it to get... Just go straight to vip level. Its only 2500 rouble so about $40aud. You will see at the ticket booth signs in english and russian. It will say for only two hours. This is only if you do not rent or buy something. So unless you bring your own venik, hat and towels then you will need to buy and... More

Every time someone talk about Sanduny - my eyes starting bright,as a person who is attending it's called ''the first steam'' every Sunday for a many years - I can say that its more than just the best Banya (steam bath) in the world, its a Mens Club,as there is the people with a different background and from different spheres -... This place has been around since 1808 and should not be missed if you have time for a leisurely afternoon/evening in Moscow. This place is open from 8 AM - 6 AM though they do have a 20% up charge after 8 pm on everything. The First class section was closed for renovation. I was visiting with my boyfriend and... More

Truly is an amazing experience! The outside doesn't the inside any justice. Once inside you are treated to a spectacular Russian experience. Amazing Russian grandiose type with amazing period decor. Then there is the bath itself where you are treated to alternating extreme heat and cold shocking your systems and rejuvenating them. And of course you get beaten up with... More

I was a bit hesitant to try this as the price is a bit high and the reviews on here seemed to indicate that there would be a problem with English comprehension. I had zero problems communicating with staff, everyone was very friendly, and it was everything I expected it to be. I went to the top class section. There... More

At first very weird and confusing, I could not get second class as it was a Monday so it was closed for cleaning. Getting naked in front of 35 approx men a bit strange at first but after a while not an issue. Been hit by a Birch Bush as strange, very very hot, then had to walk into a... More

An evening I will never forget. Come for three hours of steaming and sipping tea and relaxing among the locals looking for an escape from hectic Moscow. Bring your own toiletries such as a loofah, facial mask, scrubs etc. However, if you don't speak Russian I would HIGHLY recommend going with someone who does. Also, make reservations in advance for... More
