Nothing special for European, but exceptional for general Moscow architecture. Opened in 1999 after restoration it remains the best concert hall in Moscow because of acoustic and presence of Kuhn's organ (the biggest in Russia, still without 32' in pedal). Ticket to the concert is quite expensive (€10-15), but other time entrance is free.

It's been built recently, and if you're from Europe or Latin America, there's nothing to see here. Very different from local orthodox churches though

This is the biggest catholic church in Russia and consists in a magnific red-brick gothic cathedral. I went there on Sunday to the 10pm mass but unfortunately was late! Then I kept inside for some minutes and realized that another mass was about to begin at 11:30h. It was a lovely children mass , with a very smiley and funny... More

While not beeing too religeos, i love this place so much for it's patience and beauty. For sunday concerts it could be crowdy, but it worth the music, sound and ambience.

Just outside the broad Great Garden Ring, near the Moscow ZOO is located this pearl of neo-gothic style of architecture ,the Catholic Cathedral of Immaculate Conception of the Holy Virgin Mary. It is one of the only two Catholic churches in Moscow and is largest in Russia. We were delighted with the sight of this marvelous Cathedral whose appearance ressembles... More

Moscow is so full of amazing buildings and ones like this evoke the feeling of the struggles that have taken place in Moscow and the old USSR over the decades. It is a lovely spot.

Absolute marvel, probably the most beautiful building in a Gothic style that can be found in Moscow. The place is worth visiting either in daytime or in the night, besides, organ concerts take place there.

The Roman Catholic Cathedral regularly hosts excellent concerts within its walls, inviting famous musicians. Each year the Cathedral holds Christmas festivals. It is very popular in Moscow. An excellent concerts are performed in the Cathedral. Its magnificent acoustics gives especially sublime impressions. Today we have listened to the stunning Stabat Mater by Pergolesi performed by the Moscow Philharmonic society. It... More

The Church was completely restored after communism fell, and the Church is very beautifully redone. It has an unusual central crucifix that is too modernistic for my tastes, and a side altar to John Paul II and the Divine Mercy devotion. There are also statues to other saints including Don Bosco. Around the outside of the Church set into the... More

Staying in Presnensky

Neighborhood Profile
Presnensky
The neighborhood is divided into two major halves by Krasnaya Presnya street: the southern part highlights Moscow city – businesses contained in skyscrapers along with the White House - where the Russian government works. The north is a bit more relaxed and casual, visitors here will find the Moscow zoo, National Centre for Contemporary Arts and a number of fine restaurants. The beautiful neo-gothic Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is usually packed with the events such as organ music concerts.
