An icon on the Moscow eyeline

It's one of those buildings that will stand out in your eye line photos of Moscow. It was destroyed by the Soviets then completely restored. Incredible!

When I was in Moscow, this was one of the great attractions along with St Basal Cathedral; Red Square, the University on Lennon Heights and the Kremlin that has the largest bell in the world and the largest cannon in the world. What an experience

Staying in Arbat

Neighborhood Profile
Arbat
Crowds of tourists, both local and international take in Old Arbat and its modern and gigantic peer – New Arbat. One reason visitors keep coming is no doubt Konstantin Melnikov’s famous private house, now open to the public and worthy of a visit. After exploring one of the oldest parts of Moscow, avoid the crowds and turn to the side streets and boulevards where calmness and affordable food is plentiful.
