It can be hard to see the highlights of Moscow in a day or two, but this hop-on hop-off City Sightseeing open-top bus tour makes it easy and convenient. Take in views of the city while listening to recorded commentary on the bus. Hop off at any of the stops, including Red Square, the Big Stone Bridge, and Pushkin Fine Arts Museum. Rejoin the bus when you’re ready. Upgrade to include a boat tour of Moscow.

We were very lucky to have come across this lovely museum. Apart from the very wide and mind boggling variety of Amber there were exhibitions on local pottery trends and old historic furniture. Allow 2 hours plus depending on how many different exhibitions are on.

This is indeed a hidden gem, easily affordable, and refreshingly small but varied. Folk art, lacquerware, decorative and functional ceramics, clothing and more -- an eclectic tour through some of Russia's customs and history through its artful material products. I particularly
