Outstanding samples on display, good labelling in English.

Worth visiting, though a little hard to find as it is on a side street off a side street in central Moscow. Cheap to get in (300 roubles). The displays are stunning, with good... read more

Worth visiting, though a little hard to find as it is on a side street off a side street in central Moscow. Cheap to get in (300 roubles). The displays are stunning, with good descriptions written in English. The café on site in the basement was also a treasure, with limited but tasty menu. I was a little disappointed in... More

Spent an afternoon visiting the museum which has an outstanding display of geological specimens and minerals, mostly from Russia. The museum has 4 floor of displays and has a coffee shop and gift center where some minerals are for sale. The museum is just 5 mins from red square and is closed on Mondays. Staying in Tverskaya

Neighborhood Profile
Tverskaya
Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long street populated with well-known shops and brands. But it’s more than shopping that makes this place interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy European pedestrian streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka or Stoleshnikov lane are a great place to start. Locals can be found here working, eating, shopping, resting and going to the Bolshoi Theatre in the evening.
