Unique antic church was built at 1628-1658. Rich decoration shows Russian architecture style.Inside you can find chandeliers donated by Tzar.
As many churches it survived in many fires. However not many churches survived over Soviet period. This one was closed as church but was used as museum ground.
Interesting place for visiting and for understanding our history.

A stroll around Kitay-gorod leads to this small but photogenic church. Easily overlooked, Church of the Trinity in Nikitniki is a nice demonstration of traditional Russian architecture. Despite of its proximity to the Red Square, it is neither noisy nor touristy.

There is a beautiful church located on small Nikitnikov Lane just off Ulitsa Varvarka street not far from the Red Square.

This delightful little church was originally constructed in 1635 and features a delicate pink exterior with five green domes tightly configured, atop a multiple floor building with numerous windows lined with green tops.

You can enter the church as well and see a nicely decorated interior with icon frescos and an impressive iconostasis that is enjoyable to look at.

In the end, of the handful of churches located on and near Ulitsa Varvarka, The Trinity of Nikitniki has the most attractive exterior and interior. If you are to visit just one, this is the one to see. Give it at least 10-15 minutes to enjoy if you are a fan of architecture and enjoy visiting historic churches during your travels.

To my taste, the best church in Moscow. Amazing, brilliant, inimitable. A reference example of the style "Russian uzorochie" ("pattern"), which has become an indisputable model for many other churches, but they have not reached the proportionality, harmony and perfection, which distinguishes this one. No epithets, no explanations of art historians will not give that unique elegance, whimsical imagination of masters, delicacy and rich decorativeness of sophisticated stone carving, variety of materials used, decorative elements,  techniques of embodiment.
It was lucky. It has always been among the construction of government buildings, and it saved it from Bolshevik vandalism. The Museum of ancient Russian painting was located here. Even the magnificent interiors of the most first-class Russian masters, including such a gigantic figure as Simon Ushakov, have remained intact.
It would be an unforgivable mistake if you ignored this church. Moreover, it is very close to the Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral.
