Without knowledge and history of Russia this place may seem so boring. Just a part of Red Square. Must read before the visit the Kremlin & red Square some history about this place.

Nothing attractive - just a part of the Red Square, close to St. Basils Cathedral and Kremlin. A good point to make St, Basils photos from.

This was my third time in Moscow, and the first time I saw this circular stone platform, and its right on the Red Sq. I didn't know what it was, so joined a tourist group there. The guide was telling it used for Tsars public speaking and addressing to people, but it isn't certainly approved. So never mind, who cares....admire... More

Located at the Red square, near the St Basil's cathedral, this place was long believed to be the place of public executions, but now it's rather seen as a place from which state proclamations were announced.

If you want to feel the place properly you should know a bit of the Russian history. The place was simply for tzars decrees anouncement but closely related to the leader of the greatest peasants war in Russia of the 18th century.

Here, in Red Square, we bumped suddenly, as we were walking across the Square, at this circular stone - bricked platform ,with the diameter of 13 meters. It is located in front of the St. Basil's Cathedral and the monument to Minin and Pozharsky and is in the fact the cylindrical wall of about three and a half meters high.... More

Red square is the most iconic place to go in Moscow, cant be missed, whilst there its surrounded by the national russian museum (building in red), the iconic Gum Mall , St Basils cathedral and the Kremlin. My suggestion all these places require a full day. There is also an underground market which is quite economical for the budget shopper,... More
