Massive building that is simply overwhelming. Is this the biggest university by size of building in the world? It is not often that you see a university with the highest point at 233 meters above the ground.
Very good place to take a walk and...More
My husband and I have graduated from this University and were very saddened by the state of the club entrance to the main building.
We were greeted by very rude security guards on a power trip. We were not let inside, despite having our degree...More
Just by looking at it, it is hard to believe that this could be a University. Extremely grand and large! The size of the structure defines its opulence. And then there are 7 of them, each bearing the resemblance of its central structure, all visible...More
Walk the campus and look around the university which stands on the top of Vorobyovy Gory (Sparrow Hills). In the front of the university is a viewing platform from where you can get great views of the city.
The MGU is a bizzarre example of architecture being used to impress- instead of the normal format of a university as a campus which can grow and expand. the building was built by architect Lev Rudney (or by Stalin himself). It is 36 floors high...More
The neighborhood is divided into two major halves by Krasnaya Presnya street: the southern part highlights Moscow city – businesses contained in skyscrapers along with the White House - where the Russian government works. The north is a bit more relaxed and casual, visitors here will find the Moscow zoo, National Centre for Contemporary Arts and a number of fine restaurants. The beautiful neo-gothic Cathedral
of the Roman Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is usually packed with the events such as organ music concerts.

I have been visiting Moscow since years for business purposes. The University is a must to see. It's the tallest University in the world. The gathering place in front of the University can be accepted as a terrace of Moscow. You are able to notice all other sisters from that terrace. I strongly recommend you to go there by metro and walk(if the cold will not that severe) There is a kind of museum in the university.(Upfloors) if you are able to find a way to access there, it could be really helpfull for you to find more inspiration for the project. Please also make a research for the 8th sister which Stalin planned to build.
