We come as a family; in general, it is advisable to do this in the spring and summer, as the view is even more beautiful. A truly historical place, it’s like going back in time for a couple of hours. I think it’s necessary to show children this is our history!

Quite by chance we found out about this property. We try to visit historical sites / for 20 years now we have lived behind MKD, /you will not believe, we lived in Ilić Square, but never came into contact with our history.Be sure to visit the Trinity Yard!!! There's such a spirit, there's special air, there's Grace!!! Maybe someone won't like it, everything is on a personal level, but this is a special place for me personally!!!

This little gem of tranquility was a highlight in my five days in Moscow. The Assumption Cathedral was the home church of the Metropolitan of Moscow back in the 16th Century when it was built. The residence is in the back, accessed from the cathedral by a covered walkway and across a gate tower. The church is in a neighborhood of very old wooden houses that are being restored. The buildings were not open when we were there (the church is a working church). The outside of the structures showed all kinds of beautiful ornamentation, mostly in brick, but also including ceramic tiles. Behind is a tranquil garden and beyond that, as if to create some sort of counterbalance is an old prison building which was reported to have housed Beria before his demise.

Krutitsy is one of the most spiritual places in the whole city. This is a piece of old divine beauty and solitude almost in the centre of crowed megapolis. It is a little known and seldom visited. Krutitsy Metochion, established in the late 13th century, contains well-preserved buildings erected in the late 17th century on the site of earlier 16th century foundations. You can see also little wooden houses, the garden with fruit trees. Immediately you got an impression that you came to Moscow of 18th-19th century. For lovers of old Moscow exactly fit. A lot of young artists come to the open air I was thrilled when was there. Amazing sphere of quietness and love embraces you here. Even the guard, who is watching you and the place, is nice. It is not allowed to have picture according the signs, but nobody really mind if you are capturing this divinely beautiful place.
I strongly recommend visiting this special place for all lovers of old Moscow.

Hardly we thought that Palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich was the top of the beauty in the old russian traditional style, when another pearl of old russian architecture emerged in the front of our eyes.
That was the appearance of the Krutitskoe Podvorye, the whole complex of old russian buildings, here, relatively near to the Novospasky Road and Bridge and also the Krutitskoe Embankment on the river Moscow, is not far from this magic place.
Again, the row of old historical buildings with the charming churches and pavements among them.
Two winged stairs to the entrances in the houses, the arches, the specific, original chimneys, decorated windows with the shaped crowns in the bricks, above them and many, many more forms in typical russian style.
There is some kind of Patriarchy here, as a matter of fact, it is a Methodist Office of the Development of Christianity in Russia or what was now transformed in the Museum of Pilgrimage in the Holy Places .
We were just enchanted with this site.

If you are a tourist in Moscow don't waste your time coming here, it's not that easy to reach without your own transport and it is essentially just a dilapidated, but of course pretty, set of old church buildings. There are more interesting sets of churches/monasteries, for example Novodevichy, to visit if in Moscow for only a few days.

Yes, that's right, that here was a great reconstruction, I think that is normal for every old buildings, so don't read bad reviews! There was a period, when the church and buildings, and other were just uncarefully using, and the time (as usually) took away it's look.
Mostly in summer there could be also little restoration, but not fully, because It's importaint tourist place.
You can make great pictures, walk, look and there's a feeling of old.
Come here! Come! In every season that is beautiful!

A fascinating place, especially in wintertime when it's covered by snow. You'll have the feeling to be back in the Middle Ages or at least a couple of centuries ago.
