Spend three days taking in Moscow’s sights as you learn the history of the city, dating back to the 12th century. Walk through one of the oldest quarters of Moscow, the Kitay Gorod neighborhood. See the historical Red Square, Christ the Savior Cathedral, Patriarch's Bridge, Gorky Park, and the Changing of the Guards Ceremony in Alexander Gardens. Stroll through the Downtown and Zamoskvorechye Districts to see 16th-19th century churches and cathedrals. Then journey to Patriarch's Ponds residential area and Pushkin Square to see a more modern side of the city.

Yes, that's right, that here was a great reconstruction, I think that is normal for every old buildings, so don't read bad reviews! There was a period, when the church and buildings, and other were just uncarefully using, and the time (as usually) took away it's look. Mostly in summer there could be also little restoration, but not fully, because It's importaint tourist place. You can make great pictures, walk, look and there's a feeling of old. Come here! Come! In every season that is beautiful!

Just behind a modern Holiday Inn and a few wide traffic jammed roads you find a small park with a few old wooden houses and this church complex.Nearby there's an empty old building, all red from its bricks, with an Oriental/Asian feeling.

This is a marvelous place to visit to see and experience pre-revolutionary Moscow. Turned over to the military during the Stalinist period it was restored by Pyotr Baranovsky the architect who also saved Saint Basil's Cathedral in Red Square. He is fittingly memorialized here with a plaque for his work restoring the site. This is a quiet contemplative area of buildings dating from the 17th century old style Russian houses and cobbled streets, escape the multitudes elsewhere and experience this ancient and serene location which is located within walking distance from Proletarskaya subway station and Novospassky Monastery. Note it is an operating ecclesiastical estate of the Russian Orthodox Church and is the personal metochion (ecclesiastical embassy church) of the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia.

It is a wonderful place with great atmosphere, though it is very small, wouldn't spend more than an hour there.
