Just behind a modern Holiday Inn and a few wide traffic jammed roads you find a small park with a few old wooden houses and this church complex.Nearby there's an empty old building, all red from its bricks, with an Oriental/Asian feeling.

This is a marvelous place to visit to see and experience pre-revolutionary Moscow. Turned over to the military during the Stalinist period it was restored by Pyotr Baranovsky the architect who also saved Saint Basil's Cathedral in Red Square. He is fittingly memorialized here with...More

It is a wonderful place with great atmosphere, though it is very small, wouldn't spend more than an hour there.

This is close to where I live in walking distance. It is beautiful. But I am not sure it worth to assign a trip or not. All depend on your taste.

You turn around the corner and travel back in time. I'm still wondering how it miraculously survived. You won't find anything like that anywhere else in Moscow, I hope it will last for some time and won't be renovated too much.

Very old and for the most part unrestored church and complex just outside the Garden Ring and very near the Novospassky Convent, which is worth a visit as well, although the main bell tower is currently under restoration.

This is a very old terracotta church and building that at first glance looks like ruins. It does however give it a certain charm but do not go out of your way to visit it.
