Kind of improvised visit between cafe in the afternoon and dinner. Worth visiting seeing the various approaches taken to photographs, movies etc.

Whenever you visit this well curated museum, it will have something to intrigue you. There are usually several exhibits happening simultaneously, so you will have a good selection to choose from, usually at a cost of only one entrance ticket. This museum focuses on all kinds of photography, but other types of art can also be present - installations, movies,... More

The place is really big and you need to be ready for this. Of course all depend of the curator. I was in exhibition about space with Olga Sviblova as a curator. What can I say - nothing interesting. Maybe a story about Ciolkovsky was interesting. Maybe I just can't understand it - sorry..(

This is a good place to visit some photo-exhibitions which held here constantly. Previously it was Moscow Photography House. Now all the most interesting, trendy and fashionable photographers present their art here. Conde Nast and Pirelli calendar always present their collections.

A lot of advertisement for a new project. However not everything was interesting for me. Like a lot t"The Pirelli Calendar" from Annie Leibovitz.

There's always avantgarde and modern in Moscow - sometimes a little hidden, but when you find it - incredible. Visited during the Moscow Biennale and was very impressed with the current exhibitions (4 exhibitions on a 500RUR-ticket) The outside of the building masks the modernity of the inside, but don't be fooled. It's worth it

Nice not over the top museum. All I saw were photographs. They had a wonderful Herb Ritts and Robert Capa exhibit. Was a nice alternative after going to so many classic art museums. Check out what's being shown prior to going.

If you come to Moscow only for several days, this museum won't say much about russian or moscow history. It's more for people who are bored from historical museums. There are 6 floors (not so big) of photo prints mostly. Exhibitions aren't permanent. Everytime one of the floors you will like anyway. Approximately time spent there 2 hours slowly walking.

MAMM's current position as one of the city’s most respected and popular art spaces is the result of years of careful operation and ambitious, long-running and perfectly balanced exhibitions.

Staying in Khamovniki

Neighborhood Profile
Khamovniki could be considered a city of its own – here it’s possible to find some of Moscow’s most important cultural institutions such as the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Novodevichy Convent and Trubetskikh Estate, great sport locations such as Luzhniki stadium and aqua complex, and long and beautiful Luzhniki embankment. Pick your preferred form of transport to explore the area – bicycle or river cruise during the summer and taxi in winter as many of the great places are situated beyond a short walk.
