Sparrow Hills is one of the highest points in Moscow, and has an observation platform that gives a view of the city. The view is pretty ok; you can see Luzhniki Stadium, Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, and even the UNESCO-listed Novodevichy Convent from the lookout point. Sparrow hills are a great place to get a view of the city and an even better view of the Lomonosov University. Local newlyweds often stop here for photo shooting. Racing aficionados show off their shiny cars during evenings. Good starting point for a stroll around the MGU or down the riverside.

There is no metrostations very close, so best ways to reach this is to hire a bike from the Gorky park or then take a hop-on-hop-off buss with the green line. That bus will stop right here for some 10 minutes, and tourists are allowed to take some photos. It is really worth getting there, especially if the weather is... More

Drove up by bus to look out of the city and get an explanation of the various areas. A ski jump was to one side and a university behind us.

You will see a lot of locals here, there is a lot of people hanging around, a spectacular view over the river and the city and very close to Lomonosov University (which is very impressive as well.
