Perfect concert of the La Scala orchestra with Italian music, almost sold out but still spacious and efficient. The bar service could be faster

We were not able to get tickets for a performance as we did not book 3 months in advance. So we read about the tour and went to queue for tickets outside door #12 before eleven. There was a crowd outside and when the employees came out and spoke in Russia. The crowd divided into 2 for Russian and English... More

We went on the theatre tour on Friday and our guide, Olga, was perfect! She explained everything so well and had a great sense of humour and really incredible knowledge of the building. What an awesome place it is! Ensure you arrive at least an hour beforehand as there are only twenty people accepted for the tour on Mondays, Wednesdays... More

We booked a private backstage tour and got to see various sections of the theatre which would not have been possible if we were only attending a performance. Also saw the upper theatre and there was a rehearsal going on. Amazing place !

I tried to get tickets before I left but they wanted $500 a ticket for seats for the Opera. Our hotel concierge was able to get us tickets for $200 each, we were told the nice hotels get a handful of tickets for guests so try for them. Our tour guide told the concierge we were nice folks so he... More

The real taste of Russian culture.. Beautiful barroc style from inside.. Amzing performers. Very high quality not a so commercial place like other theaters that offer performances for tourists. Make sure to be well dressed to enjoy the whole classic experience

Staying in Tverskaya

Neighborhood Profile
Tverskaya
Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long street populated with well-known shops and brands. But it’s more than shopping that makes this place interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy European pedestrian streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka or Stoleshnikov lane are a great place to start. Locals can be found here working, eating, shopping, resting and going to the Bolshoi Theatre in the evening.
