You can walk around this park and it's ....a park. Interesting maybe but not really special....unless you go on a festive day when this place becomes an unbelievably interesting venue. City day is the best, it's crowded, it's fun, it's unbelievable. So take a walk in the park but find a festive dasy and turn that into a most memorable... More

I visited the park in winter and it was beautiful. It is about 25 minutes walk from Red Square to get to the park. There are lots of cafes and restaurants so if you visit in the winter you can escape the cold for a moment!

We ventured into Gorky Park whilst visiting Moscow. Well we arrived on the metro which is rather lovely here in Moscow just for itself. We were here in late December and there was thick snow on the ground. Our kids loved it as we are not used to the delights of snow anymore in the UK. They played in it... More

When I visited in December 2016 the entire park was white, the lakes frozen, the play areas covered in snow, and the skating rink full. If you don't mind the cold then this is worth making the effort for. And the views from the top of the gate spectacular, even if it was around -20

Walking through on a snowy day, looking at the historical statues and figures in the park, pirate ship frozen in a river and gleaming dome of chruch accross from river leves amazing scenery in your mind. A tine littley cafe right in the middle of the park, you could walk in and have cup of coffee to get warm before... More

The ponds were frozen over and covered with snow, the park had many attractions that were not open until 11:00am so we had time to walk about with little crowds. The music that was playing over the outdoor speakers was American Christmas music! Not what I was expecting to hear ::))

In winter they have what seems like kilometers of well laid out skating. A must do if you skate. They have the best public WC's I have seen in a park any where in the world.

A nice place to walk in any season and many other activities available. These parks all involve long distance walking and you must be sure to be well insulated to tackle them in -20 degrees!

If you happen to me in Moscow during summer, please take one whole afternoon to enjoy this park. It is perfectly stuffed with a balanced content of nature and culture. I visited in mid June, and I spent a lot of time in a selling exhibition of local artists in one side of the park. It was massive. I spent... More

In winter, try to visit the park in a not too windy day, and do not miss the ice ring. Skating among Russians gives you a taste of living in Moscow. Perfect outdoor family activity.
