One of the newly born theatres of Moscow, opened in 1993. Today the Fomenko Theatre is an experimental venue of intensive creative research drawing inspiration from Russian classics.

We were in Masterskaya Fomenko (Modern theater for experimental shows) twice. Each time it was interesting and magical show. The theatre has a new building not far from the center and near on Kutuzovsky metro station. The building has modern infrastructure. "Pyotr Fomenko Workshop" is a great drama theater, which is more about art, than academic tradition. In April 2012, I watched a 6-hour long stage adaptation of James Joyce's "Ulysses", and was not bored a minute. It was simple great. Getting tickets may be tricky, so book in advance. The theater is situated near the "Kutuzovsky Prospekt" metro station.
