Sapsan is very convinient way to travel between capitals, it takes 3,5 hours. Many trains during the day, but prices for tickets are more expensive on weekends, so sometimes its better to check flights. Russian railways have discounts according to your age and for families. Also there are discounts if you buy far in advance. Use official site, they have... More

It took 4 hours from St. Petersburg to Moscow by Sapsan train. Not faster than TGV or Shinkansen of Japan or KTX of Korea. Price is reasonable especially 2nd class seat. Reservation is not easy. I made reservation thru tutu.ru. Other web-site commission is too high.

It does not go faster than 250km/have but provides the fastest centre to centre connection between the two major Russian cities (there're some other connection from Moscow but not tested personally). If centre to centre connection is what you are after there is no better option. If, however, you leave or need to be in a location near an airport... More

Really convenient way to commute between StPetersburg and Moscow. Takes 4 hrs only (one way) and costs from 50 EUR. More efficient in respect of time and money than any flight.

Comfortable and fast journey from Moscow to St Petersburg. Roomy seats even in the lowest tier and reasonable food from mobile trolley. The only downside was the temperature of the compartment which felt like a stuffy 25 degrees!

Bring your passport and go to assigned car. Seating also assigned. New cars were comfortable and quiet for my journey to/from Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Coffee and snacks were served onboard but I did not get anything. I made the trip both ways in one day to maximize my time, it was a long day but well worth it and... More

Fast, comfortable, clean and reelable. Great for the tourists. You will go and come from one center of the city to other. Internet is available during the trip. My mark is 4, not 5 because if one "set back" issue- food. It is nicely packed, professionally served, but totally not tasty. I believe the Packaging of it, cost more then... More

Considering the traffic in Moscow..probably one the worst in the globe, Sapsan is the best mode of transport to the city. From Sherametyvo Airport, we can reach belaruskaya in 35 minutes. The frequency of the trains are also excellent.

forget about flight, this modern and rapid train is the best way to reach other cities in Russia, I get the train to St. Petersburg from Moscow, it was clean, rapid, without stress. the seating area is very comfort and with a good coffee shop and restaurant inside you can have a delicious journey.
