15 cyclists, average 60 km daily, relatively flat terrain Moscow to St. Petersburg, with van transfers, hotels, meals, tour guides, and meals all included. Reasonably priced, and good quality hybrid bikes were available for rental. The best totally supported bicycle tour I have ever taken. Several couples were on the trip, age range 30-76.

Did the White Nights tour from Moscow to St Petersburg in June 19. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything beautifully organised by Vladimir from the very start. Visas were sorted and we were picked up at the airport and everything went like clockwork. Met a wonderful group - age span was from 11 to 78!! Cycling was on the flat and pace was fine. No pressure to hurry up. Snacks en route were terrific. It was great to see the van pulled in at the side of the road, a couple of times a day, with a great picnic awaiting us.
We visited some really out of the way places. Felt we got to see the real Russia as well as the highlights of Moscow and St Petersburg- be sure to take in some extra days before and after the tour to soak it all up. Have done a number of cycling holidays with large international companies - but this indigenous Russian company beats them all by a mile. Don’t hesitate- go for it. Tks Vladimir

Did the Moscow To St Petersburg trip in June - so got the White Nights extras in St Petersburg. Cycling is not challenging (for “cyclists”) between 20- 50 miles in a day on flat roads on good hybrid bikes (even ebikes on offer) . I took the “comfort” option, with single ensuite rooms in comfortable hotels. My first visit to Russia and it couldn’t be bettered, we were a nice sized international group (about 18) – we all got on well and had a full itinerary of places to visit, guided tours and things to do and see on the way. The hotels were comfortable wi-fi generally fine the roads mostly quiet and the picnic lunches provided by the support drivers very good. (It does help if the weather is good)
You are seeing the “tourist” sights in Moscow and St Petersburg (and it’s worth adding extra days to cover more) but you get to places off the beaten track that I doubt many foreign tourists will ever even get know about. There is so much to take in.
Apart from all of this, and importantly, the organisation is spot on. Right from the start - support with visas, met at airport, all questions answered – this is a holiday run by people you can trust, whose main aim is to ensure that you have a good experience which I certainly did.

I biked along the Volga River with Vlad and a group of about 25 cyclists in 2013. It was my first trip to Russia. Vlad and his friends took very good care of us and we saw wonderful scenery and explored beautiful old churches along the route. The best part for me was the group lodging at dachas on the river. After a day of biking, we soaked away our aches in hot baths and often enjoyed a dip in the cold Volga before dinner. After dinner we were entertained by song, dance (and drink) until no one could stay awake any longer! The route was mostly flat and easy riding, but the parties required real endurance! This was bargain adventure travel at it's best.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every single one of these trips including the very first one. You probably enjoy it most if you are curious about Russia culturally and historically, but a scholarly interest is not needed. The experience is wonderfully informal — it’s like doing a bike trip with a neighboring bike club, rather than a touring business. I love the snack stops for the food and the conviviality.
This said, The guides are impressively attentive and friendly and organized. These are some of the reasons I am a return rider. They are especially attentive to meeting you at the airport and getting you to the hotel. The arrival hotels in Moscow (where all 3 trips began in my case) were a great choice for non Russian speakers— close to places to buy phone cards, inclusive buffet breakfast (bilingual signage).
You should be prepared for rough roads even when paved - the rental bikes do fine, though if you bring your own (which I suggest for very small and very tall people), take seriously their advice for at least 32mm width tires (I recommend gravel tread).

Vladimir and his fellows organised this very interesting tour in Summer 2018. We enjoyed superb weather conditions. Ivan was a perfect and very nice tour guide along the trip.
Nevertheless: cycling is not very popular in Russia and you have to be prepared for bad and ruggy roads.

First class outfit, well organized, thoughtful and sensitive introduction to the Russian landscape, history and culture. Vladimir's son Tim and the team were exceptional guides and hosts. Lifelong memories and friendships generated from this tour.

This very well organized tour made us enjoy the cycling, the sightseeing and museums, Russian culture and food with a wonderful international group of people. We really enjoyed everything about the tour; the schedule, the pace, the accommodations, the sightseeing and museums, the meals, the guides, the good bikes, but above all our excellent tour guides (Vladimir, Svetlana, Dimitri & Andre) who took great care of the group and provided excellent service!

Myself and friends cycled from Moscow to Mongolia this April and June.In advance,i contacted the RCTC to ask for any route suggestions out of Moscow and East. Vladimir replied to my email. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgable. He suggested alternatives to our route for less traffic and a better environment and even a fantastic bike market.
For many days of hassle free cycling that followed, we often said how fortunate we were to have contacted him, the RCTC and followed his advice.
Along the way I kept in touch with a question or two and Vladimir always replied with an answer.
We are very grateful to the RCTC and Vladimir for his advice and contact.
The RCTC really promotes true international friendship, all through cycling. All the best and many thanks!

Hi I am Australian and will be joining a Three Capitals Touur in August 2020. from Moscow to ST Petersburg. Q1 What is the terrain that we can expect? Tell me about your good food? I am 78 and my wife 75 (both fit) Is it a good challenge? Anything else please tell me. Bye Kevin

The terrain is flat for the most part - a couple of days cycling 70km, so a nice challenge. Our group had an age range from 78 to 11 and from many countries including a few Australians!
The group don’t cycle altogether- people go at their own pace and there is no pressure to speed up or slow down. Generally the group breaks up into smaller groups depending on their pace. Plenty of back up support - a van to the front, another one at the back and then usually a third one which will position at turning points. So no fear of getting lost.
In terms of food, well!!! You wouldn’t be writing home about the great food. Not very exciting - they describe chicken nuggets as the food of czars !! Lots of Borsht - but you get tired of that as you get it everywhere!! You won’t go hungry though so don’t worry about that. Plenty of food supplied on the road - always great to see the van parked ahead and picnic set up.
A fab holiday which you will love. Let me know if you have any questions. Joan
