I took the free walking tour and the Metro tour. Irena and (Asian guy, sorry can't remember name) were great. Both spoken English very well and loved their city. Well prepared with excellent information. The third tour was the Kremlin and Dennis was terrible, hard to understand, low voice and I would have been better off by myself and saved the fee. He also kept trying to sell me a private tour, tried at least 4 different times. It became a pain.

This was an excellent walking tour centred around the locations near Red Square. The tour guide, Anna was enthusiastic and made the walking tour of 2.5 hours very enjoyable with her history lessons and anecdotes which added greatly to the tour. Anna's recommendations for restaurants was followed through and they were great with a great selection of traditional Russian dishes.The tour moves at a good pace so you definitely need your walking shoes.

Excellent guide in Anna. We walked and talked and heard history. We started at Red Square and finished at Alexander Garden. Anna was easy to hear and understand and showed us things we would not have found alone. Highly recommended

I did a lovely alternative tour in Moscow with Elena who's a lovely Russian girl with perfect English. If you are into interesting city not touristy suff that is for you!
I also did the free tour with Sergey and it was quite informative! I recommend!

We arrived on Wednesday night so a Thursday morning tour was perfect (and the Kremlin is closed) From just south of St Basil's walk east along the street (Ignore google maps saying you cant go that way) to the meeting point.
Svetlana the guide spoke good English and we were able to hear her from the back or front of the group. The tour was about 2 hours long and went through Red Square and gave good historical information about the core tourist area. I would do it again if I return. It was snowing the whole tour which was really neat.

This is the best walking tour I have done and I try to do one in every city I visit. I forget get the guides name but she was a lively short blonde girl who had a wealth of knowledge and great personality. Her English was excellent. I liked the way she took us to less crowded places but so that we could still see the main sights. I highly recommend this company. Jayne

We are a group of 6 friends on tour in Russia. We used Moscow Free Tours for 3 tours while we were in Moscow. We had Svetlana as our guide for the afternoon metro tour and alternative Moscow tour. She is delightful, well informed and interesting. The time flew by and we learned so much. The second day, Alex took us on the Communist tour. He also was great.
I booked these tours from home in the United States. The company was great to work with. I had personal attention through the the process and follow up details as we approached the tour dates.
I highly recommend Moscow free tours.

My husband and I went on the communist themed tour and it was like a history lesson come to life! Our tour guide provided a comprehensive history of communist Russia with frequent pertinent stops which made it very interesting. Highly recommended. We tipped 500 roubles.

We booked quite late, and were glad we got a chance to be with a knowledgeable well spoken guide Nick. He was very pleasant and we were glad to have spent some hours of the new year with him. He was able to provide us with some tips and hints which I would have loved to have had earlier on in my trip. Despite the cold it was a great time and definitely recommended.

Tour with Svetlana went at a good pace. Able to keep up and occasional wonder off to see what we wanted. Tour goes over parkland, river views, and red square - nice mix of nature and build covered in this tour. It just touches in history - nothing too heavy. We broke off to join the Lenin Mausoleum line just on closing and were able to re join the tour 10 minutes later just as it was ending.
Free tour is well worth it as a brief overview to discover where and what you would like to want see more of in areas you may otherwise not have discovered.
