The church itself is amazing, beautiful full of vibrant colours I personally liked it. You can have a visit inside too free of charge. If you cross the bridge just behind it you can see the back of the church too and get a side view it is very nice.

The words are small to describe this jewel of Timisoara; was built ~1940 with an unique architectural design combining the Byzantine and Moldavian architectures styles. That is in few words about the building; coming to spirituality it is a symbol that was and is ment to support the Orthodox community after the Banat region was returning to Romania from the... We entered this orthodox cathedral without knowing if we could come in as tourists. We could, but we got plenty of disapproving looks. Refrain from taking pictures and act respectfully. Other than that, it is a beautiful church and a very peaceful place.

It's a must see cathedral situated in the central part of the city and it's open all day long. It's close to the Opera market

...looking down on Timisoara's main square. Inside it seemed to me to rather like other large Orthodox churches.

It was built between 1936-1941 in Neo-Moldavian style (based on Romanian Orthodox, late Renaissance, Ottoman and Byzantine architecture elements). The main architect was Ioan D. Traianescu who, I think, was... More

Really enjoyed my visit here. Some great stories of faith in the historical section that could easily be missed.

The Orthodox Cathedral from Timisoara is one of the objective that you have to visited even if you are not a spiritual person: you will be astonished by the greatness of the monument. Details from Wikipedia: "Built on an area of 1,542 m2 (16,600 sq ft), it has 11 towers, of which the central and the highest has a height... More

I was on a night time tour so I was unable to go inside. The outside is magnificent. Well lit up at night in the square.
