Piata Victoriei/Piata Opera is one of the most beautiful central squares in Europe, with the Opera at one end and the Orthodox cathedral at the other. In the middle are beautiful, and ONCE luxurious apartment buildings, now in a state of collapse inside, but still gorgeous from the outside. The square is very lively, even at night on a summer... Victory Square is a very beautiful and relaxing place. On one end there is the Ortodox Cathedral and on the other end, there is the Opera. In Summer, there are plenty of flowers and terraces with good food.

Basically main pedestrian zone in the city. With opera house on one and pretty church on the other end of the street/square. A lot of flowers and colors, as well as many great coffee places, restaurants, fast food stops and great italian ice cream! (forgot the name of the place thou, it's right next to KFC, definitely must try!)

The Opera building itself was one of the gates to the city when occupied by the Austrians, it was also a key location for the leader of the Revolution to give speeches in December 1989. It is a lovely square easy access to banks and bars and the rest of the historical centre. The Opera House itself has Ballets and... More

Lots of shops around for those interested in that sort of things, also food outlets and in the summer, pop-uo bars with seats, tables and umbrellas. Check for events, many things happen here during summer

This square is right in the city center. Here you have the opera, the cathedral, restaurants and shops. The sightseeing of Timisoara can be done in one day and this is a good place to start.
