About
The Communist Consumers Museum is designed as a typical Romanian apartment from that era, with a living room, children's room, kitchen and hallways. It displays on shelves, in closets and drawers most of everything that Romanians could buy before the revolution of 1989, from toys to vinyls, TV and radio sets to bicycles, kitchen attire and much, much more. After traveling through time in the museum, one can also enjoy a nice relaxing time in the upstairs bar: Scart Loc Lejer.

    What a place !
If you want to have a good time, go there ! We went there we a group of friends, expecting nothing really just to try, and we really liked it ! The staff was really welcoming, nice and there for us. The place is really cosy and chill, you can have a drink and visit the communist flat. The museum is actually a flat with old objects and furniture from the communist era in Romania. It's original and really nice, the beers are good and it's not expensive, and the museum is free and lives thank to the donation of the visitors. I won't tell more, go and check it by yourself !! :)

OK museum but a great place for a coffee or a beer
This is the only place in Timisoara that has a theatre, a bar that also serves good espresso coffee & a "communist" museum. The latter is essentially a collection of artifacts from the communist past & relatively interesting. However, the former is a place with a great atmosphere that is also a little "alternative" & attracts a cross section of Timisoara's youth. Well worth a visit just for the coffee.

    Childhood memories
The museum has several rooms full of stuff from the communist period, it looks like an apartment so it can get a bit crowded if more people are there at the same time. Entry based on donations. The objects are well preserved and brought back a lot of memories. We need more museums like this. The place has also a bar and a very cozy yard with tables for a lazy drink.

travelling back in time, really special
One of the most unique museums I've ever seen and I've travelled a lot all over the world! Made with lots of passion and care by Ovidiu, the owner of the place, located in an old house in Timisoara, on a quiet street. The house is also a bar and a theatre and has a wonderful garden in the back. The staff is super nice, it feels like you're in someone's home, a family. The museum is in the basement and it is an amazing world, especially if you've lived during communism it brings back so many memories. It has lots of object from the communist era in Romania, decorative objects, games, cards, bags, hats, furniture, kitchen utensils, paintings....objects that pretty much everyone had in their homes at the time as they were mass produced by the romanian government. The whole house has the exact feeling of Romania in old times, the whole experience is like travelling back in time.

    Différent and great
Not totally a museum, not totally a bar this is a great combo. Truly interesting and you can take the time you want to look (and touch !!) all the items. It's a différent way to understand history and I really appreciate it. Mulțumim

    Original and amazing
This was an amazing and surprising museum. We didn't expect much, but we left the place feeling very happy. First, the staff was super and welcomed us with great hospitality. We liked the large opening hours and went there after dinner which was interesting. We enjoyed the liberty that gave us the hosts inside the place. The "museum" is also a bar and a restaurant. We came back the next day. To warn you, you shouldn't expect a classical museum with explanations . You need to explore the room and think by yourself. The perfect place if you want to enjoy a relaxed, chill and conceptual "museum". I recommend this place with eyes closed.

Back to the "tides of darkness" - mementoes from the Communist era
A very special museum located in Timisoara - very close to the city center - about 15-20 min walk from the Cathedral square. It is a collection of objects - ranging from books, signs from factories or stores, toys, kids games, bottles, household items, TV's , clocks , dishes .... you name it - everything that was so common when I was a kid - in the early 80's you can find here. The museum is located in a pub, garden bar and private theater - yes this place is all of the above and than some. Visiting is free of charge - but they rely on donations - so don't be shy and "feed" the piggy banks after your visit. It is a true immersion in the items of the communist era, for me it brought back memories of my childhood - I remembered having this toy and that book , and that decoration ... overall very very interesting and even more interesting for those who are younger and they did not lived through that period. So when you are in Timisoara and you would like to visit a very interesting and intriguing place - pay them a visit , the "Museum of the Communist Consumer" is awaiting you.

    A fake. Sucks!
A lot of so called "old pieces" from the old era of socialism. A kitch. First: the title is wrong: the "consumers" were not "communist". They were ordinary, simple people in a very poor country from the third world. A lot of materials are fantasy and not real things from those days. I never used such things presented in that dark room. You must be thick minds to go to see a such mass. I want to forget the old days not to invent torture objects.

    Dont waste your time
The "museum" is in a bodega basement, where cigarettesmoke and dust is the main attraction. The artifacts are basically just shoved in a damp basement with no organization. It basically looks like left overs from a grandmother's estate after she passed and all the relatives already picked up the good stuff. Don't waste your time going here. And definitely would not recommend for thoses with children.

    Lots to see and explore
The museum here is located in the lower floor of a house which is now a pub. To enter the museum you pass through the bar and find the stairs down. We asked the waitress for help. She took us down, cut on the lights, and gave us a quick description. The museum is all self guided and you can pick up and examine everything you see. You could easily spend hours down here looking around. Once you're finished you can head upstairs and have a drink and enjoy the items located on the first level. This is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for something different and enjoy getting out in the city.

An interesting place with Romanian communist memories. It's a different kind of museum filled with a lot of typical Romanian objects from the communism times.
Sometimes, I think that are to many objects in a small place or too many objects of the same kind. Brought me back many childhood memories.
More than, inside is a non-conventional tea room and you can drink a very good tea or a mug of beer.

Nice place but really hard to find (picture of the entrance is posted already, take it with you if you want to find the place). The place has a cute small exhibition with communist artifacts. No entrance fee but it's recommended to have a nice drink upstairs and relax in the bar.

We expected a museum but it is a kind of bar with a little museum downstairs. The museum it's free but they accept donations. We liked the bar; the guy who attended us was friendly and the local It has his unique style. It is difficult to find, so we attach a photo in order you can find the entrance easily. We recommend it.
