The Central Park of Timisoara , also known as the Scudier park - the statue of the Habsburg Field-Marshall Anton Scudier was on display in the park until 1918 when after the fall of the Habsburg empire the statue was destroyed.
The official name of the park is "Parcul Central Anton Scudier" so the great Marshall is still remembered in the name of the place.
Currently on the place where the statue of the Marshall once stood its the monument of the Unknown Soldier a hotspot on every 25th of October (the day of the Romanian Army ).
The park has undergone a certain rebuilding process and was reopened to the public only 2 years ago.
Currently is a nice green patch in the middle of the city - close to the Bega River and the Orthodox Cathedral of Timisoara.
In the summer it is offering shade and nice fresh area so you can retreat from the heat for a few minutes.
Also since its recent reopening there is a so called "Alley of Personalities" that has more than a dozen statues (busts) of the prominent figures for the history of the city (Prinz Eugen of Savoy, Count Florimund Mercy, Alexandru Mocioni, etc.).
So if you look for a place to chill, to walk , to learn a bit about the history of Timisoara, than the Central Park can have a little something for all of you .

Timisoara has a huge number of parks available for the public, and this is another that is well maintained. It is very picturesque with its flowers, fountains and walkways and provides a good spot for a picnic or somewhere to sit down in the sun. There are also a few areas with some interesting street art pieces that are worth keeping an eye out for.

The floral arrangements are beautifully made and look splendid in autumn. On the other hand, I am not very excited about the fact that the central (typically communist) statue was not moved from there. The other statues (busts) are beautifully made. I think two more problems should be solved for this park to be perfect - too much bird misery and faster cleaning of fallen leaves on the ground. I recommend visiting the Central Park!

I love all the green spaces in Timisoara. can totally recommend Spring in Central Park. There are a plethora of statues and monuments and just a nice urban escape to a park setting. The city center, churches and Belga river all nearby.

It will look nice after is restaurated! It is located on the bank of Bega river with the monument dedicated to the romanian heroes died during the war. It was old oak trees and lots of flowers and fountains. Because the alleys were deteriorated is was closed for restauration.

Situated along the banks of Bega river, the Central park takes an important place of everyday life of people in Timisoara. Though being in the central part of the city, it still holds its authentic natural characteristic, as if being opposed to the urban part of Timisoara. It is indeed a big park, a very clean one, ideal for taking a relaxing stroll during both the day and the night. If you need to escape from urban Timisoara for a moment, then this is the right place for you.

This large park is located right in the city center, next to the Orthodox Cathedral. It is quite well maintained and can be a nice relaxing experience.
