The downtown of Cluj-Napoca (Northern Romania) is a bijoux. There are a lot of attractions. St. Micheal Church is very popular.

The church has the daily mass at 8.30am and 6pm. On Sunday, there are masses at 9:45, 10:00, 12.30, and 6pm. The stained glasses and the architecture is quite a view. If you are visiting the church in winter, the bench seats are heated to make the guests comfortable. No administration fee.

One of the must sees for people visiting Cluj. It's situated in the Main Square and it's a great monument. Great view of the city from the tower.

Massive old Church. Good news is you can park outside the church and walk into centre of Cluj with ease. There are some great cafe bars along the streets next to the church, Excellent o sit out on the sidewalk with a beer and a sandwich. The church is free to get in and it is Massive. It is quite basic on the inside. I have been to lots of other smaller churches in Romania and they are Superb - you have to go and see them inside. Ornate, with beautiful icons. I went to a Sunday morning service and it was a lifetime experience. They had a hymn singer and his rhythmic singing was a joy to hear. The church was packed - standing room only. I am not a normal church goer but I would highly recommend you search them out and pay a visit. The Romanian people are very religious folk and churches there are full not like the UK. The Religious Icons are some of the best and ancient art I have ever seen - you can spend a couple hours just looking at the artwork. The Church I visited was in Campia Turzi called Biserica Ortodoxa Nr 3 Sancrai.

Don't miss out on climbing the St. Michael's Church's tower (most people from Cluj are not aware of this wonderful possibility!) of this beautiful and impressive Gothic-style church in order to enjoy the fantastic view of Cluj-Napoca and its surroundings!

The most important monument in the city of Cluj. But the most important thing around here is that are a lot of stories about this church and the near square. It is perfect to visit by yourself, ne entrance fee, but i recommend you to contact a local guide so you can realy understand how the church was planed to be biuld and how it ended like this.
I have visitede this church about 100 time and i still love it every time when i go there. (and i'm not a religious person)

Great central point of this old city, it highly shows the medieval architecture of Cluj-Napoca and makes a great point of interest for anyone who visits the city.

This is a place right in the heart of the city. Nice and big Gothic church, can be visited almost any moment during the day.

Cluj - as Hungarians call Kolozsvár - is an important city of Hungarian history. And this church fairly represents the Hungarian past and proud of it in the present days as well.
Real gothic archtecture is hard to find but this one was able to survive for many centuries.
Good news that the church is open every day from 10 to 7pm. 2nd good news: entry is free of charge.
And the bonus: Saturdays at 5pm you can enjoy free organ concert.

You will not be disappointed in taking the time to visit this wonderful and very old church. Inside you will find a quiet solace and wonderful art. Then, if you look closely you can find canon balls still lodged into the exterior. A trip up into the bell tower is an opportunity to take, if it is offered. You may have to ask.
