The peculiarity I most love of Cluj / Romania, generally speaking, is that you can become cultured even if you are not wealthy. In comparison with other countries (more developed ones), here you can go at theatre, manifestation, show, etc at a very low price. In Cluj one can find all sort of activities. Many of them, free ! It's... More

Highly recommend this place for theatre lovers but not only as the Theatre stage hosts also ballet, opera, dance and other forms or art. The building itself is of great architectural and historical value.

Teh national theater is located in the center of Cluj opposite ot the cathedral at the Eroilor boulevard. It is a great neo-baroque architectur and fits well into the surounding archtiecture. I woudl have loved to see the in side but apparentyl it was closed on a Saturday morning and it seem you can onyl get in for a performance

This place was built mere than 100 years ago by Fellner und Helmer, the Austrian architect who built many important theaters in Europe. It is an elegant place, a bit dusty, yet it struggles to engage a younger audience, by holding modern events.

The National Theater is a place where everyone is attracted to good quality theatre scenes and the wonderful design with modern influences is a delight for the viewer. A good amount of places and different options about it, with red carpets and gold details, I say that this is a good looking Theater!

The tickets for the shows are immediately sold out and for a good reason: it's fantastic. If you're in Cluj go check this out. I recommand "Ultima noapte de dragoste, intaia noapte de razboi" by Camil Petrescu

Theater and Opera are not as popular as they used to be, but the National Opera is worth a visit and an evening. Amazing interior, very well maintained. They show theater and opera on a monthly basis. Make sure to check the schedule for open days which they have often throughout the year.
