Daniel did an exceptional job guiding four of us through the major regions of Romania. He had creative ideas for our daily itinerary and was flexible when we suggested altering a day’s plans with another idea or an unscheduled stop. Daniel has excellent connections with many local artisans and craftspeople and introduced us to interesting people and situations we never would have encountered on a pre-planned tour. He is also very knowledgeable about Romania’s history and politics and is not afraid to express his opinions. He is also very inquisitive and asked us many questions about the U.S. and our previous travels to other destinations. An added bonus: Daniel really knows how to select and recommend Romania’s best wines!

We wanted to visit Romania and Transylvania but it was challenging finding the exact tour we wanted. Daria with Via Transylvania was able to customize our weeklong tour through Transylvania and it was the best experience of our lives! Via Transylvania was most efficient tour company I have ever worked with. We corresponded through dozens of emails and Daria was always quick with a fast and thorough response. Daria was very well organized, had exceptional planning and keep attention to detail to ensure we met all of our desired attractions! The itinerary went smoothly, even when one of our travel companions missed their flight and had to arrive a day later to the tour, Daria and the Via Transylvania team ensured that they met up with our group as soon as possible. Their dedication to serve us is what made our trip so memorable. We had plenty of time for exploring of the sights, experiencing the local food and of course immersing ourselves in the Romanian culture. We saw a vast majority of castles, beautiful painted churches, endless country side and even got an adrenaline rush at the underground salt mine and white water canoeing. The trip itself was fantastic, but what MADE THE TOUR AMAZING was our guide Florin! He was very knowledgeable with history and Romanian culture, extremely friendly, and went above and beyond our expectations from the beginning to the end. I had accidently left behind some souvenirs and Florin went out of his way to package and ship it, I was very grateful! The accommodations were sensational. We stayed in adorable local bed & breakfasts and guest houses that were personable and made us feel welcome. We were served delicious homemade wines, cheeses, fresh bread, eggs and vegetables all grown on our host’s farm or locally harvested. You could never have this experience in large touristy hotels, we were so in love and awe struck with every place we visited and stayed. Romania is a beautiful country that certainly surpassed our expectations. Truthfully, I have travelled to over 30 different countries but Romania is now my number one favorite- and that is solely because of the fantastic logistics of Via Transylvania. We would definitely book another tour with Via Transylvania and they have my utmost recommendation. Thank you Daria, the Via Translyvania team and our guide Florin, for the adventure! Your kindness and patience was much appreciated and we are grateful for the memories of a lifetime!

We were 3 generations of a family looking for a tour of Romania to see and learn our grandfather's roots and history. Daria was very thorough in the planning, ensuring everyone's needs were taken care of (diet, preference, desired attractions to visit), and providing options and pro's/con's of things to add to our itinerary. The trip itself was great, although we had guides/drivers switch halfway through the week (we were notified prior to the tour - no surprises), both were great, personable, understanding, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond our expectations.

We decided to visit Transylvania but it was a bit challenging so we asked for help and luckily we found this agency located in Arad- Via Transylvania. I can't say in words how nice, efficient and professional they were from the beginning to the end. We were looking for a special experience in Romania and also for a well organized tour which we were so fortunate to find with Daria, Daniel and our guide Iulian. All went smooth and we could enjoy and transform a difficult tour in a pleasant experience considering how much we visited in just 4 days starting from Timisoara and ending in Brasov. We had everything we needed- a lovely guide, all time to spend as we wanted, excellent accommodation included in the price of tour and wonderful memories at the end. I can't recommend more this travel agency. Romania is a fascinating country. There is so much to explore and see whatever you like- landscapes, history, folklore, culture. You can get it all in one with Via Transylvania and I can't wait to book our next tour with them.

My student daughter and I enjoyed 12 days in Romania organized by Damaris at Via Transylvania. We spent a few weeks organising and fine-tuning our trip. We had some ideas and Damaris made suggestions based on our interests. We had a wonderful time. Everything was really well organized – train tickets, taxis, hotels and suggestions for restaurants. We started in Bucharest, travelled by train to Sighisoara, walked for a few days in Saxon Transylvania - staying in the fortified villages, then went with a car and guide to Maramures and Bucovina in the north, before returning by train to Bucharest. It was a good combination of independent travel with professional back-up. Gorgeous wildflower meadows all over Transylvania and we loved the village homestays with their delicious home cooking. The Museum to the Victims of Communism was an unexpectedly moving and intense experience in an old prison in Sighetu Marmatei. Everybody dressing up for church in the villages on Sunday was an unexpected delight. It was a really varied and interesting holiday.
