The Mackenzie-Childs pottery workshop and house are definitely worth the 1-hour drive from Rochester. Make sure you do the 45-minute house tour (it's free) to see Mackenzie-Childs products displayed in all their glory. Each room is uniquely decorated and each room draws lots of "Wow" and "Honey, look at this" from the visitors. Your neck will be sore from turning... More

If you do, you'll love this place. As an interior designer I'm familiar with the company. A few pieces go a long way but some folks absolutely love this stuff. The farmhouse tour is a must just to see the pieces in a total MC controlled setting. The bathrooms are the best part in my opinion (esp. the fish sinks).... More

There is something magical about the drive up to Aurora for the Barn Sale. For years my aunt has invited to spend a weekend where she grew up and see what MacKenzie-Childs is all about. We arrived on Sunday at 9am and waited for 90 minutes in a sloping line around the building. It was a pleasant wait as we... More

We were there during the annual barn sale which attracts thousands of people and for which one must wait in line for hours. Once you get inside the prices are very attractive. Instead we went to the gift shop where they have a lot of the same items at full price. It was an interesting way to see the items.... More

I love the House. The company has changed a lot. They no longer have a lot of pottery in the store. The metal table stuff in cheap, and made in China. They no longer make any of the painted Cayuga Lake Dished or Plates. The GROUNDS are rundown and not kept, and the barns the animals stay in need to... More

The grounds here are lovely and worth exploring before going to the main building to see the introductory movie which is very interesting. The gift shop has beautiful and pricey furniture, dishes, and other decorative items which are fun to look at. I got lucky and found some sale items I could afford ! Don't miss a tour of the... While MacKenzie Childs is not my taste as it is pricy and over the top, but I did appreciate a visit to the store and workshop. I would highly recommend stopping when in this area of the Finger Lakes.

This is my second visit to MC. Gorgeous dishes, furniture, rugs, and more. Loved the house that your can tour all decorated in MC. Also loved the entrance to the shop, with beautiful flowers, planters and interesting seating.

My wife had gotten a piece of their pottery few years ago as a gift. She had head about the factory and store, so as we were up in town for a family wedding, we decided to go on the morning of. We got up early and drove up the lake to get there at the opening. We were there... More

Wasn't really sure what to expect, not being Familiar with this company. The majority of items had a checkerboard design. There was a lot to look at, however the prices were outrageous for the normal shoppers. Nothing suited our tastes, but it was interesting to just look around. Sales staff was friendly though.
