This is a place where history been told. The famous Philippine Hero who won over Spaniards during the Spanish regime. Glad to see places like this showing how Philippines needs to protect its peace and territory. This statue will remind every Filipino about their past.

Me and my family have been here many times. It is a great place for a family picnic. Also the school dancers and singers they often have on weekends are awesome! This place is worth a visit for the reminder that Magellan was killed here as the invador that he was and that Lapu Lapu was a real person. The tide goes way out and leaves some of the boat displays quite at a loss. Check out the ubiquitous colorful mosaic painting, the city's official motif.

Best to visit the place during weekdays and not holiday. Very near from the airport, I think 15-20minutes travel. Might be a good first stop if you are planning a city tour upon arrival.

My visit to the statue ended a long day touring the city and, then, crossing the causeway to the island... He, Lapu Lapu stood up to Magellan and beheaded him...

The place was in the same area as the Magellan Shrine.. clean and beautiful. Great for families with kids. Nice place to stroll and had nice music playing in the background. My daughter even danced her way through the area with the music.

Mactan Shrine is a great place to visit, beautiful park. Not sure about the resturants there however.
