One of the few sightseeing places I went to. It's good to go there once but nothing memorable as such. Just a few statues and a beach where the battle took place and a few souvenir shops.

It's a landmark of the City of Cebu when Spaniards came over to set foot in the island of Mactan. Visit the place to see more of the history of the Philippines.

A nice renovated park as a tribute to the local hero Lapu Lapu . Local souvenir stalls & fish restaurants where you pick your fish & seafood & its cooked to your liking.

obviously not a skateboard, but to my 3 year old it was close enough. Well worth stopping off here and looking at this little park. It was odd to have Brian Adams blasting from the loud speakers as we came in, but the monuments and statues are nice. There are lots of little souvenir type places lining the edges of... More

The facility is a tourist-friendly destination especially for people who are interested to know the history of Spanish colonization in the Philippines. It is well-maintained and organized. I commend the local government of Mactan for making this place a real tourist destination in Cebu.

Hello all. I remember this statue well, as I've been to Cebu now 16 times. Got married here back in the later 80's. Back a few yrs ago, this statue was all by itself with loads of casual parking all around it, along with a ring of small thatched souvenir stands nearby. A real peaceful area. Now, there's a major... I went to see the statue with my 2 young kids. A guide approached me and offered to take pictures with my camera. At first I was very suspicious of the man. But right next to him was a police officer. So maybe a picture with my kids is not so bad. He offered to show me around and take... More

4+ rating on trip advisor. It's nothing more than a Plaster of Paris statue made by children, in the middle of a dirty park with stalls selling tourist trash. Having said that I did purchase three coconut bags for people back home. The end....

The people in the area are very proud of Lapu Lapu. Area around the statue is very pleasant and there are a lot of stalls here to buy local produce. Doesn't take long to go around the area and see the original landing place of Magellan.
