This church (dedicated to Saint Vitalis and to the Guardian Angels) is the main church on the island of Cebu. It is also the seat of the archdiocesan bishop. Much controversy surrounds its history as to whether it was the very first church founded by...More

We were surprised to see the grandeur of this Cathedral when we attended a wedding of a friend's son. Although this church is overshadowed by the more popular Sto. Nino church, it is still worth a visit. The interior is like most Philippine churches. The...More

A must visit church when you are in Cebu. They have mass almost every hour everyday. This is my favorite church in the Philippines. Very solemn, I feel renewed each time I come here. Also, parking is not a problem, except on Sundays.

This Cathedral is often overshadowed by the Shrine of the Infant Jesus, but it should be equally important to visit. The church exudes reverence as soon as you enter. The piety of the people is so humbling to me. Beautiful altar and religious art inside...More

Not far from the Basilica, this Cathedral offers another place to pray. It is another testament to how Catholicism is deeply ingrained in the Cebuanos. Masses are offered on a schedule and it is open all day

The church is well worth a visit to experience the architecture and peaceful atmosphere inside. You don't need to be religious to visit it and to go inside and the people there were friendly and welcoming. They asked me where I was from and invited...More

This church is not that busy and has this peaceful vibe compared to its neighbor church, Basilica del Santo Niño. English mass is conducted in the afternoon, the rest of the mass is conducted in Cebuano dialect.
