If you like parks, this is something to see. It is like QC Memorial Circle. It is big, has lots of trees and landscape. We saw many people jogging and playing here. There's a children's play area too.

A simple park, full of trees and space. It needs a more greener land area as it is all cemented and soiled.

PVG Airport to People's Park -6:30PM Still Rush Hr.? (2 Replies)
My flight is scheduled to arrive at 5:30 PM at PVG Airport(plus 1 hour for lugguage, etc.). What is best way to get to People's Park area? I am staying at New Harbour Apts. which is on Yongshou Rd. near Jinlin Rd. I do not know how far it is from Peoples's Park. What time is rush hour over? I do not want to be stuck in traffic and end up with a big taxi bill. I prefer not to take airport bus but will do it to avoid big taxi bill. There are 2 of us with 2 pcs. of lugguage plus carry-ons. ...More

People's Park is 1200 meters away from your hotel. You can change to Line 8 at People's Square station, get off at Dashijie station, take Exit 1, walk east along Ning Hai Dong Lu or Jin Ling Dong Lu for three short blocks(200 meters) and you'll be on Yong Shou Lu.

People's Park (4 Replies)
My parents will be visiting Shanghai five days, two of which my father will be in business meetings. The People's Park is approx. 2miles away, they will be staying in the Liang An Hotel, this means that she will have to cross a river (can't think of it's name). My question is: how safe is the walk; are the roads busy, safe neighborhood, etc.?

You can walk around Shanghai at any time of the day and it is quite safe. Certainly safer than many places in the US. Just need to be careful crossing the street as pedestrians have no priority. The subway is a good way to get around as the traffic can be pretty bad. Easy to use with instructions in english.
