As the title suggests, this mall is not new and has recently been given an uplift. From the outside, it looks modern and all and when you go inside, it’s bustling with traders etc. Looks pretty much the same as Greenbelt 1. There are lots more new restaurants opened and one of those establishments that brought me back to MCS is Wabi Sabi (used to be at Malugay Street). Either way, looking forward for more inclusions.

Shopping I find in Manila is dissapointingly expensive. To find cheaper prices I went to Makati Square which is pretty run down, but was able to buy imitation sunglasses, bags and a pair of shoes. This mall is one step up from bargaining in flee markets on the streets. Not very many shops, but ok if price is you main shopping priority

This mall is rather old and does not offer much. It is quiet and not crowded. There are some shops selling clothes, mobile phone accessories, electronics, etc. Nothing much to do here.

More than three decades ago this place was very nice. Now, it is given a facelift. Hope the owners will bring back the glory it used to have.

Whether you are a local or a tourist, If you yearn for a trip that subtly appeals and taps into that inner explorer in you, Makati Cinema Square is a must visit..
Yes it is old, and rundown, but every visit offers a new experience, different from the last time you where there.. It's like that gem along Ortigas that seemed sketchy and almost eerie way back in the 90s before it was updated to be just like every-other.. It always had a place in the heart of shoppers..
Makati Cinema Square does not offer posh, huge cut stores with ever changing window displays.. It has cramped corridors that lead to chilling stairways, halls that make you peek and look back before turning just to make sure you're not lost, low ceilings with aged lights, and a comfort room who's least concern is comfort.. Its not the typical mall you go to where everyone dresses up in costumes of who they want to be.. It is a place in its own with a lot of character.. More like the peculiar grandparent with a bunch of war stories who's borderline weird but always excites you every visit, than that corporate uncle who regularly has the latest gadget..
Its way ahead of its time with a whole wing dedicated to contact sports quietly nestled behind a small tiange which in itself offers unique finds.. A watch shop frequented by the country's biggest forum of watch enthusiasts, for their expertise in a wide array of pieces from the modern swiss to the vintage japanese.. Not only do they frequent it for their horological itches but its been a haven for meet ups and afternoon coffee, discussing tourbillions and the latest Paul Newman auction.. How is that for class?..
Then there's the lower grown floor and basement where lies another treasure for anyone who delights in basic everyday carry to zombie preppers.. Make your pick, a gun, a knife, or an arrow.. You will find it here, and not only find it you will, but master it you may, for Makati Cinema Square also has its own shooting and archery range with very competitive rates..
Ever wonder where you can find a wide display of Surefires, Kershaws, Spydercos, daggers, axes and other "tactical" what nots? you guessed it..
Makati Cinema Square is old, yes, but not faded, and most certainly never forgotten.. Especially to those who see it for what it truly is, not just a mall but a home to an experience like no other..
Perhaps the only similarity to a typical mall that you will find here is Jollibee..
Which by now i suppose is safe to say good for any business.. ;p
Cheers!

If you're looking for cheap and affordable buys, this is the place to be. You may find in this area several stores selling telco products and gadget accessories.

When i was in Grade School & High School this was the IN Mall. But times have changed and with so many new malls out there Makati Cinema was left behind.
It has now become a source for fake DVD's, Cellphones, Old Furniture.

I grew up in MCS in its glory days of massive theatres and high end stores. It is now a thrift and hobby mall which has the only bowling lane left in makati great for kids! an archery range and cheap toy stores round out the kids offering. Hopefully they build a playground as well.
I definitely recommend coming back to see how much improved and cleaner it looks today. Try the new akitaya restaurant (formerly mile long) or the classic aidas bacolod chicken and chinese emers pata tim.

It has been a popular place to visit way back in my younger days but alas, the owner of the place seem to have given up in catching with the new and bigger competition around Makati. It would be nice to see this place renewed and renovated.

This is a really old place that hasnt been upgraded in a long time. Too bad, it has great location and potential. There are still a few shops that people go here for like bowling and archery but the place really looks rundown. I hope they renovate this place.
