Saw two performances this year. Grease and South Pacific. Holy cow, who are these people? What a treat to see great performances,, orchestration, casting, directing g and all that goes into great shows. Real professionals. Not a bad seat in the house. They give the Goodspeed Opera House a run for their money. Love this place.

If you're looking for an evening out in Auburn, NY, spend it at Merry Go Round Theatre. The production of Grease is wonderful! The music is spot on; singing is exceptional; talent is superb! Very enjoyable evening.

Fellow guests at the B&B we were staying at loved a show they'd seen with this theater company the night before and it sounded clever and like it could be an extremely great night out. Here's the problem: we were toursits; we use GPS when traveling if we don't know exactly the terrain, and we'd never been to Auburn, NY before or anywhere near it. This theater company seems to function "address-less." No address in their "what to do in the area" ad in the local brochure, no address given on their recorded message when you call for information, and get this --- even when our GPS used its own search software to get us to one of their two locations, but unfortunately not the one we needed for our show - even the STAFF of the theater at that location (2 staffers!) couldn't tell us the address of the other theater location we needed to get to! Instead it was "turn right here, go about 1/4 of a mile, wrap around this, watch for that..." Unbelieveable.

We saw the Million Dollar Quartet at this location. The show was great, especially Jerry Lee Lewis. A very nice building and comfortable seating for the show. All seats appear to be very good with no blockage of view.

We saw South Pacific at the playhouse and were amazed by the high quality. The sets, costumes and actors were all Broadway level. All the seats were great too. They sell wine and beer and a few snacks. Really a terrific experience all around. Ticket prices are high but a good value given the quality of the performances.

The Merry Go Round Playhouse is a hidden gem of the Finger Lakes. I have been a season ticket holder for years and always look forward to their summer season. Talent is outstanding! Top notch Broadway actors are always performing in some of the best musicals. Don't miss an opportunity to attend a performance. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I were staying a few days in nearby Aurora NY and saw that this playhouse was about 25 minutes away. We had time to explore so purchased tickets on-line for their current performance, Parade. This musical is based on the real life story of Leo Frank - a Jewish man from Brooklyn who was accused and tried for the murder of a young girl in Georgia. The cast and entire ensemble were excellent! The lead actor has performed on Broadway and both he and the woman who played his wife were exceptional. Actually the entire ensemble was very good and the musicians were superb! My husband and I are always intrigued how just a few items on stage can create the right environment for whatever is happening and that was especially true in this show where a desk and a few chairs along with different stage levels was all that was utilized. How it was used provided the necessary back drop for the story. The theatre itself was quite comfortable....could not really see any bad seats. We visited on a Wed night and the number of people in attendance was fairly good. We were so pleased with the performance, enjoyed it thoroughly, and wouldn't hesitate to visit in the future.

I have never been disappointed when I attend a show at the Merry Go Round Playhouse! I only wish there were some kind of water sold/served at intermission on a regular basis. (sometimes when I've gone there's been nothing at all)

Hello, and thank you for the review!
I noticed you were concerned about availability of water at each performance. Our front of house staff always has water available at our concession stand and our concession stand is always open unless the weather bad. At those times our front of house staff serves water in the lobby of the theater. If you are ever in need of anything when visiting our theater, I encourage you to visit our box office for assistance. We want our patrons to have the best experience possible.
Thanks again!
