As most shopping malls in Ciudad del Este, this one is clean, safe, and lets you buy without many worries on the authenticity of the products, despite the dark image Ciudad del Este (deservedly) got in the past. Also, like in many others, the shops accept Reais in cash, so Brazilians don't have to waste time/money in exchange houses. Shop attendants are fluent in Portuguese and have all the willingness to serve customers. My advice: always bargain! Take advantage that this shopping is outdone by bigger ones, they can stretch a bit in order not to lose business. I recommend VIP to buy perfumes and cosmetics.

Enormous complex with several adjoined malls, we visited one part, caffees and restaurants didn't impress at all, coffee from Nespresso machine was OK. Home improvement adn deco stuff, electronics, hopefully genuine design clothes, vine, sporting goods and even surgical instruments. We went because we had nothing else to do and

First mall you will see on your left when crossing the Ponte da Amizade / Puente de la Amistad from Brazil, immediately opposite Paraguay immigration & customs (for show). OK, but relatively small and in decline due to competition of much better neighbouring Paris Shipping Mall. Still, so close that it is worth to check it out.

I thought the stores I wanted to visit were spread out through the city but surprisingly I found almost everything right at this shopping! It was good to save time and I didn´t have to walk in the sun too much!

Oh my word! I knew from the brief description in the travel guide that this place wasn't paradise but I wanted to be able to see another country on my travels but do not go unless you have a plan. I knew it was a place known for cheap electronics and other items but assumed you would have to walk into the centre where it would spread down a high street. My poor poor plan was to wonder round and hopefully get a beer and bite to eat. However as soon as you cross the bridge you are bombarded with people trying to flog you anything from cheap mobile chargers to cannabis as well several times being offered viagra which I don't quite need at the age of 26. The other shocking thing that was being offered was tasers with them displaying how they worked towards my face. We then tried to get away from the streets into one of the shopping malls named after famous cities around the world but all we found were gun and electronic shops which was less than ideal. I think the final straw was trying to be sold a poncho when it was raining whilst I was putting my coat on!

This place reminded me of the intensity of some areas of Bangkok but with more intensity! My advice is don't go and if you do simply want a stamp on you passport, walk over the bridge and walk back.

We had maybe one hour trip there from the Brazilian side paying R$60 for a taxi. Way back was cheaper at 40. Both Monalisa and Paris were simple as airport Duty Free's with many floors. Prices were far from attractive. Surrounding flea market booths and salesmen trying to attract you in many ways made us feel unsafe. Only positive, we bought two bottles of decent wine at affordable prices

We went across from Foz to Paraguay and this is the first mall on the left as you enter Ciudad del Este. It is reasonably modern and certainly cheaper for imported goods (US sports brands, perfumes, electronics) than Brazil. However prices are probably comparable or even more expensive than the USA itself. The mall wasn't busy at all at the time we went (6pm) and we were told it was open till 9pm on most days - unlike most other shops in the town which close by 4pm. There is one small diner in the middle of the mall that we saw and a few small stalls including one selling souvenirs in the middle of the mall corridors. There is free car parking at the back.

This was close to my hotel so I popped in. It is a nice, spacious mall with a robust food court. It I was busy at night so fun for people watching. I did no shopping so I can't speak to the value or quality of shopping but it's worth a pop in if you are nearby.
