Services offered by appointment only, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. And a reminder that Spa Boquete offers only professional therapeutic work; it does not include other “services."

Already during our conversation on WhatsApp I felt that I was in good hands. She wants to know your wishes and if there are sore bodyparts that need some attention. Usually I don’t really like massages, because a lot of people use too much pressure. Kitzie kept checking if the pressure was good, even though I hadn’t told her about my previous experiences. She really focuses on you and what you want and need. Every guest has a different idea of their ideal massage, and, in my opinion, the most rewarding experience for both people is to try to come as close as possible to that idea(l). The only wish I can't manage is deep tissue massage with a whole lot of pressure, but I'm happy to refer a guest wanting that to another practitioner here in Boquete who can do that very well. Otherwise doing professional massage is a challenge and it's fun, involving intuition, training and invaluable input from my guests. This is "green season" (i.e., lots of rain) in Boquete, and visitors are few and far between, so the gift of a Trip Advisor review is especially appreciated by all of us with businesses here. While I've decided to "semi-retire" and limit the number of massages I offer, they're still one of my two greatest loves (besides dance), and I feel fortunate indeed to be able to enjoy both. Here is a classically trained massage therapist steeped in physiology and with a deep understanding of human musculature. I asked for a deep tissue massage. Often this involves some forceful elbow jamming, a painful bruising attack as an interpretation of deep. Instead today there was nuance, as if my muscles were being listened to with a fine ear and then played like an instrument with great finesse by a master musician with 25 years of applied knowledge. Fluid, graceful, responsive, understanding and yes, in-depth. Thank you, Kitzie. What an incredible treat. You are not only immensely talented but wise and kind as well. My muscles are singing your praises.Thank you so much, deepforest, for taking the time to write such a detailed, thoughtful, and kind review. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your massage, and that your muscles left the premises happier than when they arrived. And I'm beyond grateful to my many teachers over the years, especially those at the Muscular Therapy Institute, where I did my initial training, and to Mary Gail Sullivan in Watertown, MA, for her superb deep tissue continuing education workshops 23 years ago. Ben Benjamin, the founder of MTI (when it existed), insisted that we provide self-help suggestions to clients, as well as professional therapeutic massage, and over the years of my own work and dance experience, I've come to take that advice very seriously. This includes limiting my practice to no more than 2 clients a day and practicing what I preach in stretching and exercise. I visited the spa for a massage and facial. On arrival, Kitzie gave me a warm welcome. She inquired about my expectations and special issues. From that information, she outlined her areas of focus during the massage, so I knew what to expect. Kitzie is a gifted masseuse. She worked with gentle skill to relieve specific problem areas.
Kitzie is a wise source of knowledge about locally sourced products. I was pleased to discover that many of the oils and facial products are natural and organic. She was happy to give me information on how to order the products for my personal use. My skin felt incredibly soft and fresh after the facial.
I highly recommend a visit to Spa Boquete!

Thank you, 374denish, for taking the time to write and post a review on Spa Boquete's Trip Advisor page. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your massage and facial. Having worked at a luxury spa in Boston for 5 years before coming to Boquete in 2006, I wanted to offer spa services without the selling of products, as often happens in spas that include facials. So I choose to use products that visitors can easily acquire, either in David or Panama City or via the Web, and am happy to provide that information.

If you find yourself in Boquete, or live close by, I strongly recommend making an appointment for massage with Kitzie McKinney.
My husband and I both had 2 sessions with Kitzie while visiting from California the past two weeks. Kitzie spends a lot of time getting to know and to learn your needs, and respectively honors your expectations.
We found ourselves more relaxed, more energetic (!) and even sleeping better after our sessions with Kitzie.
Please consider making an appointment with Kitzie, you WILL NOT look back. In addition, she is incredibly interesting, and has a lovely spiritual centered aura which leaves you feeling the same.

Dear Barbara and Fran - Just after the pandemic abated a bit, I wondered whether or not to re-open Spa Boquete, as it had been closed for over 2 years. I gave myself 2 months to figure it out; during that time, you two showed up. It became very clear to me that I love doing massage too much to give it up completely, though I now limit my appointments to two per day. Each time I work, I think about all the fantastic teachers who crossed my path, both here and especially in Boston, and am so grateful to have learned and practiced a lot of different techniques that help me better address my guests' situations and requests. Thanks so much for your visits and for taking the time to write and post a review for my spa.

I had a lovely experience here! She spends a lot of time getting to know you and what kind of massage you are looking for. She communicates really well so you feel comfortable the whole time and is clearly an expert. My back felt much better after the massage and she even taught me some exercises to help with my neck pain. Highly recommend!

Self-care tips and tecniques were an important part of my professional massage training at the Muscular Therapy Institute, and they've become even more important to me after 25 years of practice. I've learned a lot, both from my clients and from my own challenges, over the years, and am especially happy to share suggestions with visitors who may be far away from their usual practitioners.

Because of Covid ,I have not had my yearly Kitzie massage. I arrived to Boquete on Friday, and I was on Kitzie's massage table on Saturday. She is a sweet thoughtful person and eliminated my flying travel body kinks. On Sunday I was able to get back to hiking. She is very keen on focusing on areas that need attention. I highly recommend her. You definitely will come out rejuvenated.

Many, many thanks, Roxanne, for figuring out how to use the Trip Advisor Review link and for posting your comments. We've known each other for a very long time - I think about 14 years - here in Boquete. Airline seats are the worst, and I'm glad that you were able to get back to hiking in short order. Most of my guests are short-term visitors to Boquete, so it's a special treat to welcome folks over the years and discover how their lives have evolved, especially people like you, a shining star who very likely inspires much happiness in the lives of your friends and family here when you come to visit.

I had the best experience with Kitzie-I had a facial and a cranial sacral massage. The combination of the two was so rejuvenating for my body and soul. If you have never had a sacral massage I highly recommend it.
Kitzie and I chatted for a bit of time before treatment. She wanted to know her clients prior to treatment which is key because she wants to create the an ideal spa experience.

Clean and friendly and easy to find. I had hurt my back and decided to try this caring massage therapist. I had lost touch with her 13 years ago when she had helped me through hip surgery here in Panama. I am so pleased with her attention and tips on self care. I never write reviews, but she is well worth it. I am definitely going to be good to myself more often with her.

An important part of my traiing at the Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge MA, was to encourage clients to practice self-care techniques so that they could continue to improve their condition. This is especially true for deep tissue conditions, for which the use of force isn't the best strategy. I'm so glad that you found the massage helpful. KM

I have been going to Kitzie for at least five years at least twice a month. She is not only an extremely highly qualified, certified massage therapist but she is a wonderful, caring human being. Kitzie takes the time to chat with you and find out what needs attention and how best she can help you. My massage appointments are always the highlight of my week and not just because of Kitzie's magical hands, but because of who she is as a human being. I cherish my time with her.
Kitzie's spa is comfortable, spotless, relaxing and located conveniently in downtown Boquete. If you are looking for a truly memorable massage, I suggest you contact Kitzie right away. You won't regret it!

As Welthy noted in her very kind review, we've known each other for at least five years. One of the biggest treats of my ideal life and practice in Boquete is offering massage to visitors and to residents as well, since 2006. As a fellow New Englander, Welthy's visits to my spa are even more special. We encouraged each other through the shutdowns during the 2020-21 pandemic. Her regular visits to my spa have also helped me assess and adapt my services to current circumstances and to the consequences of the ongoing pandemic and of having practiced professional massage for 24 years. How much for an hour trrstment please.

Hi Bryan and thanks for your inquiry. An hour relaxation massage costs $40.00 and an hour deep tissue or aromatherapy massage costs $45.00. All services and prices are listed on the Spa Boquete website.
