This was a short hike to see the coffee bushes over a very cool suspension bridge. I did the 5 min trek in flip flops. Then you head back up to the cottage to do some tasting. Yeah! And you don't just sip coffee mind you, you learn about the roasting process, what makes coffee bitter, and the brewing processes.... More

This is a review of the coffee tour of the Kotowa Coffee Farm, which we booked through Tree Trek. We booked this tour on a whim. Our hotel staff told us we would have plenty of tour options in the shopping center. We weren't sure what coffee tour we were really going to but as we were talking to our... More

First, to note there is a lot of confusion in the other reviews of this tour. Some are talking about ordering coffee, some are referencing some type of transportation. This is a review of the coffee tour of the Kotowa Coffee Farm, which we booked through Tree Trek. We booked this tour on a whim. We were having coffee in... More

We signed up for this tour while in Boquete and we're glad we did. We started from town in a safari bus making the 6K trek up the side of the mountain. It's a bit of a rough ride but you see some great scenery. Once we got to the plantation, we were met by Octavio, our charming and very... More

Reviewed 27 August 2015 I had one of the worst experiences in my travel life with Hans. Me and my parents had the back luck to book through him our a transfer from Boquete to Almirante. Even i repeated many times in my emails that we were 3, when he arrived to pick us, he was surprised as he saw... More

I purchased coffee through an email order 3 times with Cafe Kotowa. My biggest regret was that I gave them 3 chances to get things right! First time, I inquired about organic coffee for an organic cafe I was opening. I deposited the money into their bank account but when I receive the coffee, it was not organic! I called... More

An interesting - but long - discussion of the history of coffee. The tour of the processing plant was good, especially the restored old mill.

While in Boquete, everyone should go on a coffee tour. Kotowa is the one we chose and are happy we did so. Hans picked us up at our hotel and was a wonderful guide. He was very informative and we had a great time. The best part of the tour is the coffee tasting. I always leaned toward light coffees,... More

I would highly recommend the Kotowa Coffee tour. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Hans, who guided us through the whole process. What a wonderful place and employers who care about their employees. We have even changed our coffee likes after this tour. Formerly "dark roast" drinkers, we now favor blonde or medium. Don't miss this chance to see a... More

We took our tour in April 2014. We were picked up at our hotel and transported to the farm by Hans. We learned a lot about growing coffee and I learned so much about tasting. Hans is a wonderful guide and we enjoyed ourselves immensely! A great experience!
