Got opportunity to see turtles digging the sand to lay eggs and go back to sea. Even we could see the newly hatched turtles coming out of the egg. They asked to report at 3.45 Am, be on time. Turtle watch will start at 4.30AM, you have to be there in the waiting hall with ticket before that.I think early... More

Visit from july to oct end. Visit to watch the turtles laying eggs and to know the most amazing things in nature. A visit to the same beach is a must in the day time also - just to see the beauty of the place. The beach is exotic. One often finds dead baby turtles in the sand.. As they... More

Excellent experience. Best time to visit is June to October. Must see. Lifetime experience. Nicely guided tour. Very well explained and they try and show you the best without disturbing the natural habitat of the turtles. Would recommend it for everyone visiting Oman. Special thanks to the Government for conserving turtles and still keeping it open for public

It was moving to see a mama sea turtle, she unfortunately for her couldn't lay her eggs that night, the sand was too dry to dig her nest. We also saw a baby turtle and turtle egg shells. The visits are well organized, but there are a lot of people so I'm not sure how stressful this can be for... More

Reached the visitor center at night in preparation to see the turtles. Unfortunately the turtles decided not to show up on that night. It appears to be a well organised centre. However my only suggestion is that the staff inform the visitors clearly if no tours are going to take place.

We knew that we were staying at Ras Al Jinz not during the peak turtle watching season and, indeed, the night walk did not take place because no turtles were seen. However, we did get a chance in the morning to see a couple of hatchlings which was amazing - I imagine that during the time when more are there... More

As said relaxing.... Ras Al Jinz is a place close to nature. Absolutely calm and relaxing. We were there on the weekend 27th and 28th May. Put up in the Eco Tents. A true luxury. Turtle watching was a nice experience, and my daughter loved it. We went to both evening (8pm) and morning (5am) schedules, but felt the night stay which is in the same scientific center compound was a bit overpriced ($200/n) for the service they provide, and the same will cost you half during off-peak months from april-september. You can opt for... More

We were staying at the nearby Turtle Beach Resort and came here for the evening walk to observe the turtles laying their eggs. This guided walk takes place in the late evening hours, in total darkness, illuminated only by the torch lights of our guides. Late March was not really the height of the egg-laying season, but our guides managed... More

We did not stay in the hotel rooms, so cannot comment on them. We did however eat in the restaurant and went out on a turtle watching trip. Upon arrival there was no one at the reception desk and we waited for up to half an hour before anyone spoke to us. The restaurant manager's only interest was to let... More
