- RexMuscat, Oman44 contributionsWadi Darbat was an adventureI'd rate my experience at Wadi Darbat as absolutely breathtaking. This natural wonder located in Oman's Dhofar region truly captivated me with its stunning beauty and serene atmosphere. The journey to Wadi Darbat was an adventure in itself, with scenic roads winding through lush greenery and rugged landscapes. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the sight of cascading waterfalls, crystal-clear pools, and lush vegetation as far as the eye could see. The contrast of the vibrant greenery against the rocky terrain was simply mesmerizing. Exploring the wadi on foot was a joy, with well-maintained paths leading me through verdant palm groves and alongside tranquil streams. I particularly enjoyed taking a boat ride on the tranquil waters of the wadi, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the natural beauty of the surroundings. The abundance of wildlife, including various bird species and small mammals, added to the allure of Wadi Darbat, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike. Overall, my experience at Wadi Darbat was nothing short of magical. It's a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Oman, offering a peaceful retreat amidst stunning natural scenery. I can't recommend it highly enough!Visited March 2024Traveled on businessWritten April 18, 2024
- Ali NazifpourTehran, Iran32 contributionsGood experience even when not at its peakI went to Wadi Darbar in April, before the monsoon season and therefore there were no waterfalls. However its nature and river is still very beautiful and drinking Arabic coffee and taking a boat ride are fun activities. There are also animals safely milling by. A deer came up to me and interacted with me.Visited April 2024Traveled soloWritten April 23, 2024
- nikiMuscat, Oman12 contributionsGreen Oman is hereThat place was gorgeous especially when you traveled from Muscat because everywhere was green and most of the time it was raining.there was some lake and boats for pedaling and there was some animals such as cows, donkeys and camels. And they have been making some Gazebo’s that be perfect for picnic. And in august it will be so many waterfalls.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 1, 2024
- Imran KMuscat, Oman177 contributionsStunning!!As advised by our friend, we reached here early in the day. It proved to be an advantage as the place was not at all crowded with just a couple of families. The waterfall on the left as you enter the wadi set the mood for what was to come! The water was crystal clear and a nice place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty. As we moved forward, we were greeted by the lovely views of the stream and the mountains behind it! We also had a nice boat ride in the stream and the kids as well as the adults enjoyed it! We recommend reaching early in the morning and spending a couple of hours here to actually enjoy its beauty!Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 1, 2024

A beautiful series of waterfalls set within the greenery of Salalah mountains.
There is a boat ride which takes you close to the falls. They provide life jackets. You may also rent the entire boat for 5 Omani Riyals.

Words nor pictures can do this marvel of the world justice. I believe we visited at the perfect time of year, water still flowing and several deep swimming “pools” in lower Wadi Darbat. The colour of the water was surreal as was the cool temperature. The kids did not want to leave, there was no end to their exploring. I think we may just have found heaven.

Wadi Darbat is a low lying waterfall. It is in full force during the rainy season in Salalah which is July to Sept. The waterfall existed in November but not as much. There is boating available in the pond where the water falls. The greenery also is reduced once the rainy season finishes.
The waterfall & greenery in Bali was much more & better than this place. Good for a one time visit during rains, nothing great.

A real lovely place. A very green wadi. There is a lake at the end of the Wadi and many waterfalls along the way. Because of the many green there are many camels. They are staying at or crossing the road. Sometimes you have to wait, because they did not move any centimetre.

If you don’t visit this waterfall there’s something wrong with you. Make sure you visit darbat waterfall. I went in November, it was not busy at all and the water was calm enough for us to swim in. They say it’s not as green or there’s no waterfall in this season. The truth is if you are coming from a country without nature, coming to Salalah this season will still be fulfilling.

This place deserves 5 stars. It felt like in a different country (outside of Gulf) with these blue pool and stream, majestic waterfalls, and the greens all around as well as the cooler temperature.
Going to the waterfalls may be a challenge though but it’s worth it. Please try wearing comfortable shoes and clothing if you plan to go up.
The ground area, there are also lots of activities that can be done like boating.
Food are available at site as well. There are public toilets as well at the main area.
I could stay all day staring the blues.

How salalah will be in June last?we are planning to go in June 24th.i don't want to get disappointmemt.anyone have any ideas?anyone went in June last?

how was your trip last year, i am planning this year any suggestion for me ?
Written June 12, 2023
Its always a good time to visit Wadi Darbat, but what season you visit will determine what you see. If you visit in June, you will be at the height of the summer, prior to the monsoon season in the fall, so the amount of water and rivers will be at their least. On the plus side, if you have an off road vehicle, you will be able to explore the whole valley with your vehicle, and appreciate the scenery, the animals, etc. On the negative, no boating, and very limited waterways.

Hi i will be traveling with family can anyone suggest good lunch options near wadi darbat picnic spot?
Written August 19, 2017
better tilo bring your own food. Homemade food is preferred option unless your fan of fast-food than American fast food chain could be a choice. however, I suggets you prepare your meal and bring it in a storage containers to preserve the food. Try this location coordinates through Google Map Apps. X: 17.077674 & Y: 54.452539. Don't stay or have your picnic near waterpools in Durbat due to possible bytes of small misquotes. Try to aviod area with small waterpool where small misquotes will definitely find their way to bytes you.

The ideal time to visit Salalah is the Khareef Season (monsoon) i.e. June to September.
The places to see in the order of scenic beauty are:
1. Marneef Cave & Al Mughsail Beach
Excellent scenic place for all ages.
Marneef Cave is located at the end of Al Mughsail Beach length of more than few kms.
2. Ain Garziz / Jargiz
This is also a very scenic & ideal place for families.
During monsoon season it provides waterfall to enjoy more in the water.
You need to take towel, short & inner wear to take bath in the water there. This place is also visited by most families or tourist.
3. Wadi Darbat
Compared to above 2 places this place is less scenic but most visited by the tourist or families.
It has green mountains all around with lake in center where boat rides are available at OMR 3 to 5 for 20 minutes.
In my opinion alll above places will be green through out the year.
So it doesn't matter if you visit this weekend. You will come to know the real situation on your visit & then you can also help by providing your review on it for this month.
Note that all above places are at different locations.
To cover all this place, one day is enough.
During my visit in October, I noticed more crowd at:
1. Wadi Darbat
2. Ain Garziz
3. Marneef Cave
Hope above info will help to make the right decision.

Hello, Are there any trekking routes around Wadi Darbat, if yes, where can I find them online? I appreciate the help!
Written August 31, 2015
There are no certain trekking routes, but some people go there and make their own tracks. I don't recommend you to trek there because it would be risky due to snakes, fail of network, and the mosquito during monsoon season. Anyway, if you like to hangout and hiking, I think it's better to do it beside the main asphalt roads.

How easy is it to get there from Salalah cruise port?
Written February 25, 2015
Ive not driven from the port. But port is enroute Mughsayl (South of Salalah) and wadi Darbat is enroute Mirbat/Hasik north of Salalah. It is all nearby. From the port you need to drive through the city to get to Wadi Darbat direction. Port is located somewhat outskirts and you will not get a taxi or public transport. get to the town womehow and then its easy.
