A wonderful place to give yourself a flair of calmness and relax your mind. The scenery is beautiful as the range of mountains along the shore making it an ideal place to have mental piece.
Cleanliness level which is maintained there is simply amazing which is also helping the marine life to stay there at peace. You will surely find the groups of crabs running with the sea shore and smaller ones trying to save themselves from hunting birds.
Surely a must to visit place for all those visiting SALAH for some wonderful experiences.

Visited the beach in winter of 2019 in a drive from Salalah. Excellent beach with blue waters in the horizon. But crowded, since it was holiday season. Spent about an hour in the beach. Love to visit again..

Even before we reached here, the drive in itself was very beautiful. We encountered herds of camel on the way as well. In fact, it has been a regular feature in Dhofar to see big herds of camel crossing the main highway and cars stopping to let them pass.
At Mughsail, the beach was very rough and so it was unadvisable to go down to the beach. We went up towards the blow holes and were fortunate enough to see some water gushing out of the blow holes. It was a sunny day and so it became hot after a while in the sun. I am sure had it been cloudy, we would have spent some more time here.
Definitely a place to visit and not to be missed!!

I had only one day in Salalah and traveled all the way to Taqah and then all the way back to Al Mughsail Beach. It was very peaceful (only maybe 5 other people on the entire beach), but it did take a while to drive out there. It also says "no swimming" which seems less than optimal as the water was amazing. I did wade in the water & enjoy the beautiful views at sunset. It really is a tranquil place.

Nice drive to the beach. There is a little restaurant right before the beach. Good food and cheap prices. The beach has been arranged to welcome tourists. The sea was calm when I was there but still worth a visit.

Mughsail Beach left me speechless as I beheld the ocean for the first time in my life. The emotions stirred by the vastness of the sea are indescribable. Moreover, the beauty of the surrounding mountains added to the enchantment, creating a breathtaking landscape. As if scripted by nature, the presence of wandering camels added a touch of wild beauty to the scene. Mughsail Beach is a place where nature's wonders converge, leaving an everlasting impression that transcends mere words.

The beach is located south of Salalah about 30 minutes driving. The beach is very clean with white sand and clear water. You are not going to see many people there so it is very quiet and peaceful. The beach is a good place to relax and unwind.

This is a beautiful and much scenic beach. One side is mountains and another side sea. It makes the view much special. You may mostly get fog on the mountainside which is so breathtaking view.
Beach is full of pebbles and broken shells. You'll love those broken shells in a different color.
It's shallow up to a certain extent. Enjoy swimming.
The blowhole you can visit which is only few meters away.

Last week we had a long holiday and we planned a trip to our own rainforest Salalah. Journey from Muscat on road is tiring, but the roads and a good car will not make you feel so.
Yes you should have a companion driver, just incase you feel like taking rest.
After crossing Thumarait, there is small checkpoint from MoT where you have to provide basis details for govt statistics and then the magic begins.
Plush green mountains, low clouds, drizzling and visibility of almost 20 meters, you feel like as if its a different world. especially if you have been in muscat ( or gulf ) for long.
After passing by these small mountains and the green surroundings, you enter the salalah city.
Beautifully designed and maintained with trees on both sides of the road and nice weather.
after checkin to the apartments as it was a last moment trip we couldnt get any hotel. we relaxed for a while.
then we moved out as it was almost evening. there is a fruit shop where you get fresh coconut water to drink and lots of fresh fruits.
that was our dinner for day1.
day2 we started for this beautiful place Mughsail beach, The drive is about 40Km from Salalah city. The weather was great during due to monsoon. The experience of seeing the mountains and the beach with the waves hitting underneath the rocks and splashing from the holes like fountains is spectacular. Nice scenic view, the pictures which can be framed for life and memories cherished forever.

We hired a car for 16 rials (do not take a taxi it is expensive) and we travelled from our resort Fanar Hotel just north of Salalah to Mughsail Beach. This was about 45 minutes and was 45 kilometres. It is best to visit early as the heat can be intense. We arrived just in time to see some dolphins play a 100 metres from the shore. It was a delightful site. There is a typical Arab type cafe by the beach and you can walk around the rocks to view platforms and visit the unique blow holes. There are three pairs of Kestrels nesting so be considerate when walking around the Cliffside. The blowholes are best viewed when there is a little wind so the swell creates waves. Your prize is a spectacular display of these blowholes spouting forth with sea water spray and you can record some memorable pictures of this natural feature of the rock formations. It is very peaceful with beautiful views. Please come to enjoy this tranquillity. The Cliffside and beach is full of birds and so if you visit just leave only your footprints in the sand. Be careful with litter so you don't pollute this special beauty spot. There is about 5 kilometres of white sandy beach. We viewed a flock of cormorants fishing and flying in formation as we drove along the beach road.

Hey guys, are there any hotels directly on the beach or very close that you would recommend? thanks,
Nate

There are currently (Dec 2018) no hotels at or around this beach, it’s quite remote. But, as mentioned, there are resorts on the beach in Salalah. Worth a day trip here, even if you can’t sleep over!

Will I get a cab and a guide for Salalah on 28/06
Written June 23, 2017
You will find the guide booklet at the airport and each hotel has the their guides, who are specifically Omani
Enjoy your trip. For the taxis you have to be careful as most of them charge double or triple if you they know you are stranger

Is it easy to drive on your own in a rental car from Salalah to the blow hole? Is it easy to get around all of salalah like including wadi durbat, raysut waterfalls?
Written May 20, 2016
We rented a car there in Salalah from Mark Tours. They were so helpful. It is very, very easy to drive your own car there. You just head out of town toward Yemen and the road will take you to Mugshail Beach. You park your car and walk around the cliff (which is Marneef cave), and there it is. We went in February but the sea was calm so no big splashes! But the water is beautiful and you could still hear the noise. We still enjoyed it, but recommend going when the surf is rough and at high tide to get the best effect.
Also, if you get back on the road and go further toward Yemen, you will pass a small grove of Frankincense trees on your right. Keep going and you will get to a point on your left where you can turn to Al Fazayih beach. It will be best to have a 4wd vehicle to get back out of there, but the road will take you down to the beach with AMAZING views. The beach has little pockets between the rocks where visitors can basically feel like they are in their own world. This worked well for us because the surf was very calm and swimmable.
So, if you go on a calm water day, you will be rewarded at Al Fazayih beach and if you go on a rough surf day, you will be rewarded at the blow holes!

how far is the blowholes from the port.and can we get a cab from there
Written October 17, 2015
The beach is in The west area of Salala, it's 27 minutes , 36 km away from the port. You can find a cap in the port but you have to make an arrangement with the driver to back you up back to the port.
