I visited here about an hour before closing time but the frankinsense museum adjoining was already closed - guess the good Omani government workers had to get home early. : ? ) The grounds are quite interesting, even though the individual structures of the old...More

You could encompass the whole of this museum in one hour. There really is very little to see here, but I think that it is probably quite comprehensive...there really is not a great deal to Salalah either. I am sure that historically there is, but...More

we really liked to visit there, it is really a nice place to understand the history of Oman. The museum is meant to tell the story of Salalah and mostly of Oman. It's quite small but tells us the culture and history of Oman.

The museum is next to the archaeological site. The site is probably for the purists. Not an awful lot to look at. However, you get to go to the museum and it is good. Explains about the frankincense and describes the different kind of boats...More

the museum is well laid out and has many interesitng displays - the information is presented in a way that it is easy (and not boring) to understand the history of the area

We enjoyed the visit to the Museum and appreciated its relevance both in historical terms and in preserving the history. As part of the broader tour quite relevant. Again worthwhile and depicted history and development quite well.

Hi, Sorry I cant tell you what days they are open but I would recommend you allow at least 2-3 hours to see and read about the various displays.
