A spectacular cave with impressive stalagmites & stalactites, bats and a lake populated by blind fish - well who needs eyes if you live in perpetual darkness? Highly recommended for all.

Of the several times that I tried to visit the place in the past 3 years, this place is always closed for visitors. Although I have heard several good things about the place, I am unable to experience this. Even the authorities here speak only Arabic so its very difficult to communicate.

Every time, when in the area since 3 years have we visited the cave, just to realise that the cave itself cannot be visited. We tried to contact the management of the cave via the phone number displayed at the locked gate. Unfortunately the phone was not answered. We tried to get in contact with the management of the cave... More

We passed this place on our way to Jebel Shams and as expected the place was closed. However, our 4x4 Omani driver took an offroad route and showed us a place from where we could get a clear view of the cave from outside!!! It was a wonderful sight and we hope that the place opens soon so that we... More

I drove 37 kilometers to the cave with my family from nizwa. Unfortunately, when we reached the cave, It was closed due for maintenance. Without any notification when it was closed or when it will be opened again. Hope to have the information at the right time.

This attraction has been closed for years. There are signs on the road that you follow for miles only to find a tatty piece of paper on the gate saying it is closed.

I took a chance and drove there to see if it might be open. Sign says temporarily closed. The view os nice though of the mountains. See pic below.Go visit Masfit AL a'briyeem about 9km away instead. Amazing views and lots of palm trees and old structures. Great for photos!

Went and found it was closed again. I have visited earlier. Booked the ticket in advance. Fortunately the train was running. It's interesting inside. The guide inside was good and well informed.
