Very well restored, nice displays inside, clean toilet and very welcoming staff. On top of it very few visitors; hence we had the castle for ourselves during the visit.

This is a must see. Beautifully restored and so informative and full of history. Take your time to learn about the Omani history, take photos and some rooms even have a/c. Best museum I've been to so far in the Middle East, even better than...More

I love fortresses, castles so this pleace was fantastic for me - even closed ;-) You can make pictures but the most important is old fort Al Qala'a - please check on the google maps as there is no this fort described in TripAdvisor service.

I can't imagine there are many tourists going to Khasab other than cruise ship passengers. There is nothing to see in Khasab itself but the fort is well worth a walk round - it is in good shape and historical displays are interesting. If this...More

The fort is open from 10am to 4 pm. The rice is 5 OMR for each. It is a beautiful fort. Very clean and well maintain. The are some shows inside the fort. If you are to Khasab, do not hesitate to visit it

For us the attraction of Khasab is the setting of the place, so it is a bonus to have this reconstructed fort with its small museum about local life. Check opening times since it closed at 3.30 when we visited.

Right across the street from the Lulu Hypermarket (good for picking up snacks and drinks), the fort is well worth a short visit as it is nicely restored and contains a small exhibit area that details what life in Khasab was like in previous decades....More

From the harbour to the castle is an about 30 minutes walk along the road with regular, but not very heavy traffic.
