We booked this full day cruise through our hotel (Atana Musadam). Picked up from the hotel around 10am and away by 10.30. Only had 9 people on board so plenty of room for everyone. Throughout the day we were well looked after, with hot and cold drinks plus fresh fruit always available, complemented by a hot lunchtime meal.
The crew were lovely and worked really hard to find dolphins on our route, these were spotted several times in the day racing with our boat. First stop for swimming and snorkelling at Telegraph Island. Several of us stayed on board and it was possible to watch the plentiful fish from the side of the boat, snorkel gear is available if you don't bring your own. Second stop mid afternoon at Seebi Island for more snorkelling and swimming. Water was cold at this time of year and everyone decided to stay on board for the second stop.
We thought the full day cruise at 20 Rials offered better value than the half day at 15 Rials, the scenery becomes more dramatic after passing Telegraph Island. The whole day was really relaxing and enjoyable and a great way to end our holiday. The trip is payable in cash.

We did the half day dhow cruise around the fjords in Mussandam yesterday and it was brilliant. The staff were incredibly helpful and there was plenty to eat and drink on board with tea, coffee, cold water bottles, soft drinks and a big selection of fresh fruits. Snorkeling equipment was provided, along with beach towels, and plenty of seating both in the sun and in the shade. So many dolphins stayed with our boat both out and back, and it really was a well organised and excellent trip. Highly recommended! 😊

We had the full day Mussandam Dhow Cruise with Khoushem on january 19th, 2023 with transfer from Dubai to Khasab included.
Driver was on time to pick us up and helped with the imigration procedures. We arrived 20 minutes before the schedule departure time and the tour started on time.
The boat was very nice and confortable and not crowded with guests which made the experience great for everybody.
Crew on the boat was very nice, courteous and helpful. They served drinks, lunch (very good) and took us to see the good dolphin and snorkling sites.
As a tour operator myself, I would really recomend the company and certainly do business with them again.
Price was very fair for everything it included!

Bad experience: I booked in advance for an avernight cruise and then full day safari in the mountains. It sounded good at first.
Many things went wrong:
- when we arrived at office, the guy told us we don’t have a booking… despite I already paid. I had to show him confirmation on my phone.
- when bringing us to the boat, we followed the guy’s car with our car, and at some point the guy just forgot to indicate us which boat was our.
- end, and worse thing, I paid for full day safari… the guy did bring us up the mountain, then back at noon. I told him I paid for full day, he said full day did not exist, just half day… after struggling, I got reimbursed for the difference, but no compensation.
I booked and paid in advance in order to be able to relax… what happened was the contrary, I had pay attention to everything because it was not professional, and at the end I had to struggle… not a good experience.
I don’t recommend this company, they don’t respect their customers.

We visited Khasab on 10.1.14, I must say it was an wonderful experience for us. We were 3 adults and 1 kid (below three years old), we are a residence visa holders of Dubai. We started from Dubai at 9:30am in morning, the weather was awesome we felt the chillness on the way to Khasab. The entire journey from dubai to Khasab port took almost 3.30 hours including the border crossing formalities and sight seeing on the way. We reached the destination by using GPS navigator, on the way we got stucked in RAK and we wasted 10-15 mins to find the actual route to Khasab due to some construction activities going on in RAK.
About exit/entry at the border - it took almost 30-40 mins to finish the visa stamping formalities at the exit and entry to Oman border. We paid 35DHS per person at UAE border and got a receipt which we handed over to the guard while leaving. After crossing the UAE border we stopped the car near the Oman entrance and I took a car insurance from Al Ahlia for 80 DHS since I do not have an Oman insurance. It is better to carry a pen to fill the passport details at Oman border security. We paid 50 DHS per person for entry visa to Oman. Once we crossed the border it took 40 mins to reach at the top. On the way we stopped near a beach and took some clicks.
We took a half day package in dhow cruise offered by Musandam Sea Adventures/tours. I must say it was an wonderful experience for us. We got stucked somewhere in the city after we reached to Khasab. We called the tour operator and within 5-10 mins they came to our location for assistance. Finally we reached the harbour/pick up point at 1:30pm. There were only 9 people on the boat. The driver and helper were very supportive and helpful. They offered us local tea/coffer, fruits and dates. During the journey we had seen lot of dolphins on the side of the boat. They were very fast and swimming parallel to our boat, awesome experience..My 3 years old kid had enjoyed a lot after seeing the dolphins. I Would recommend to use their service package to for everybody.
Things to remember:
1. Carry your passports
2. Keep AED's to pay at border crossing. Check the tour operator for current fee
3. Pen to write the passport details at Oman border
4. Oman car insurance (if you are going in a car)
5. Camera, battery, memory card, lens etc.,
6. GPS navigator or Road map till Khasab
7. Fill fuel (saw Shell petrol station/Oman oil on the way)
8. Keep sweater or jackets if you are travelling on Dec to Jan
9. Be at right time so that tour operator can assist you better

We've been on Khasab tours dhows several times and have always had a wonderful time. We recommended this to visiting friends who agree that the day trip on the boast was fantastic. The difference is that we have always driven to Khasab ourselves, our friends booked the transport to & from Dubai with Khasab Tours.
This proved to be a big mistake.
We were under the impression that they would have their own vehicle but instead they were transferred in a small bus with several pickups on the way - less drop offs when my friend informed me and I contacted management to complain.
Our friends were picked up at 06h00 from central Dubai, were driven the opposite direction for 20 minutes to Kempinski hotel to pickup up more guests, and then several stops at the different hotels in RAK.
Instead of boarding between 09h00-09h30, they only boarded the boat at 10h30 - one hour late and more than 4 hours after they were picked up!
Management refused to acknowledge the problem and merely said it was the border crossing that delayed them.
At 6pm my friend called me from the border, telling me what happened. I called to complain and 30minutes after the border crossing the group was split into 2 vehicles, separating Dubai and RAK customers. We presumed this was done after my complaint.
The driver then sped to Dubai at 140km/h all the way, zigzagging between lanes - presumably to get our friends home quicker, they arrived just after 20h30.
So my advice would most certainly be to get to Khasab by using your own transport!
As I've mentioned the dhow trip is and has always been great, no problem there, but we'll most certainly never book a day trip departing from Dubai again.

My wife and I wanted to do a trip to the Oman "Fijords" - I looked around and saw mixed reviews and eventually went for a punt with Musandam Sea Adventure Tours - sea_adventure@msaoman.com. They were very quick and getting back and offered me the option of a priviate transfer. The day trip is a long one 3-4hours there and back and 5 hours on the boat. If the trip was busy pickups would have made the jouney longer.
This tour company really impressed me - they booked the private transfer for 900Dhm as I requested but then called me up the evening before to let me know that it was just us coming from Dubai so we would have the whole 22 seater bus to ourselves was that ok? So we saved 900Dhm and got a whole bus to stretch out on - they could have made more money out of us but didn't.... great first impression.
The trip was amazing, the boat was small and intimate, the whole team from the guide who was a lovely German lady who spoke around 6 different languages fluently, to the captain and chef who whipped up one of the best meals of the whole holiday! We saw more dolphins than we could count even a baby one! Lots of coves and did some great snorkelling. We cannot recommend this company highly enough even the driver drove extremely well and was lovely.
Don't think about anyone else as we saw Khas Adventure Tours with about 30 people on their very large boat and coach compared to the 4 of us on ours.
Do the tour it was worth it!

We did the half day tour that ran in the afternoon which was 240 AED for 2 people and ran from about 1:30pm - 5pm. One of their crew met us at the local Lulu so we could follow him to the port. There were about a dozen other people on the boat of a mix of nationalities. The boat was comfortable, had pillows and Persian rugs on the floor, fresh fruit, tea, and snorkel equipment. The tour through the fjords was great - very scenic, and the crew made an extra effort to to find dolphins and stay with them as they moved around. We were lucky enough that the dolphins swam alongside our boat near the surface for 2-3 mins. We also went snorkeling for about 30 minutes at the end of the tour. Although the water was a little cold and visibility not that great at this time of year, we could see plenty of fish and explore the underwater terrain. A public shower and towels were provided and the ride back to port was relaxing and non-eventful. Overall, we had a great time.

We love off-roading, and actually rented a 4wheel Drive since we like adventure, but then saw this Mountain Safari Tour offered by Khasab Tours in the lobby of the Golden Tulip Hotel. Great choice! Our Driver/Guide's name was Barakat from Pakistan. To my astonishment, he was a Tour Director, not just a Guide. I did not anticipate to encounter such in a remote area like Musandam.... There is a huge difference between a Guide and a Director. He was professional, courteous, highly educated, polyglot, his English was perfect, an excellent narrator, safe off-roader in partially quite tricky mountainous and rocky terrain, and very knowledgeable about the history, geology , ...even the best photo ops. He patiently took pictures for us, and waited til sunset on top of Jebel Harim, so I could get that great sunset shot over the Fjords of Oman, a spectacular moment! He took us to breath taking views over the Fjords of Musandam, showed us 4 foot tall and half below the ground rock homes where natives once lived, incredibly remote habitats carved out of rock walls over breathtaking abysses, which we would have never found, as they were camouflaged and 'one' with the mountains..last but not least he walked us through an amazing Fossil Garden on top of Jebel Harim.....I believe, we tipped Barakat more than we paid per person the actual tour, but it was worth every Rial. Make sure to ask for him!

I looked around for a company to take us on a Musandam trip from Dubai. Although Khourshem tours is not often mentioned in the Dubai forum, it got good reviews in the Khasab forum, so I decided to email them. I am happy I did. Emails were answered promptly and details were easily arranged. The price of the cruise is pretty standard, but Khourshem tours gave me the best price for transportation from Dubai. They were also flexible with our group. We booked a half day cruise and a half day mountain safari. Both were really good experiences.
The dhow cruise takes you to the beautiful fjords. You cruise for a while and then they try to find and play with the dolphins. Later on you have a 30min stop at Telegraph Island for snorkeling. Even if you do not go into the water the view is well worth it. Towels and snorkeling equipment are provided. Drinks and fruits are also available. Boat was smaller than other companies, but that also means less people in your boat.
The mountain safari takes you to beautiful landscapes and mountain views. You have a few stops for pictures and for exploring of the old houses and fossils. Road is bumpy and next to cliffs.
The company also arranged for private transportation to Abu Dhabi at a reasonable price.
Highly recommended.

Can anyone suggest a way to get from Dubai to Khasab? I am interested in taking a half day tour but the company's private service is out of my budget (950 AED). Does anyone know if there's a bus or shuttle that might go to Khasab? I really want to take the tour with Khourshem but it seems silly to pay 950 AED to get to a tour that costs 140 AED. I am not comfortable driving in other countries.
Thanks!

He visto que todo el mundo recomienda hacer el crucero en el dhow en Khasab, pero también he oido que es muy interesante la excursión del 4x4. Voy en un par de semanas y sólo estaremos 10 horas. ¿Qué me recomendáis? ¿El crucero por los fiordos o la excursion en el 4x4? Por desgracia no tenemos tiempo para las dos y tenemos que elegir. Agradecería mucho que alguien me orientara. Muchas gracias. Un saludo
