Whilst the jetty at Swakopmund was not a fancy as the Brighton or Santa Monica, it was great to walk along and feel the strength of the Atlantic waves crashing underneath. For photo enthusiasts, a switch to black and white puts another dimension to the...More

Nothing special. There was a restaurant on the end but it was closed when were there. You could fish there - guess this could be a reason to visit.

It is a nice way to spend 15 mins. Nothing wrong with it, but also nothing spectacular about it. I guess the specialness is that it is the only one within 1000KM, so if it is the only one you have, it makes it special....More

We wandered along the pier enjoying the sea views and the wealth of butterflies accompanying us. It is a short walk but a good one.

You cannot miss the Jetty if you walk along the beach. There a few restaurants and serveral attractions close by.

A nice walk out to the end of the jetty. Waves crash and the wind blows. A look back at the city from the jetty is great.

If you only visit it for the jetty without knowing the history behind it, than it's just an ordinary jetty. If you combine it with a visit to the restaurant and have diner there, you can read some about the jetty's history in the menu....More
