At the entrance of the old medina, in a former almond warehouse, l'Atelier Madada welcomes you under its stone arches. By small groups (8 persons maximum) and supervised by a professional team (a cook and a trilingual presenter) our hosts discover the secrets of Moroccan gastronomy and are initiated into the delights of one of the best cuisine in the world. In a friendly and casual atmosphere, those half-day workshops teach each participant how to prepare a full traditional meal that one can then easily reproduce at home.

The ultimate way to learn the magic of Moroccan cooking. Mouna teaches you everything you could possibly need to know and at a pace and in a style you know you can be sure to be able to repeat at home and wow your friends with your new skills. Then a trip to the spice Market with her to buy... More

As cooking classes are one of our favorite things to do while on holiday I was very excited to find L'Atelier Madada when searching on the net for cooking lessons in Essaouira. It was the highlight of our 2 day stay in Essaouira. We where met by Nour-eddine and Mona who taught us to make the very sweet but delicious... More

Without a doubt a highlight of our holiday. We had seen the good reviews and the photos but that doesn't prepare you for the attention to detail and the warm welcome. Everything was so well organised the day was just perfect. It is difficult to put into words but if you like Moroccon food then book this experience!

We spent halve a day with Mouna and Nordine learning how to make a beef tagine and some sidedishes. We had a lot of fun and could ask all the questions we had about Moroccan food. The cooking space is really nice and clean.

The kitchen is amazing - everything was spotless and excellently presented. The lesson itself was all we could ask for. The staff answered all our questions - about everything we wanted to know about Moroccan cuisine and more. We especially enjoyed the tour of the spice market - and of course, eating the fruits of our labour - which were... More

We went to the cook school with friends who had been before. It was well organised and spotless. Mouna and nour-eddine were so friendly and helpful. We made soup and fish tajine. We learned all about Moroccan cooking techniques, from making mint tea (essential) to chopping to cooking the tajine. Then nour-eddine took us on a tour of the food... More

My husband and I took a half a day cooking lesson at l'Atelier Madada. I make Moroccan food all the time at home, but I learned so much from Mouna and Nordine and we had so much fun. The kitchen is beautiful and Mouna and Nordine are so knowledgeable and supportive. They gently watched over my heavy hand with pepper... More

This was a surprise highlight to our recent rip to Essaouira! Our friends found it on Trip Advisor and signed us up. The facility was completely modern - each "chef" has their own cooking station. The two real chefs were fun and helpful - and one spoke excellent English. All of the ingredients were neatly laid out at each cooking... More
