Me and best friend came to this spa recommend by our Riad and we were very impressed. The women were so professional and made us feel very comfortable. The massage we choose was the 1 hour oriental with hot oil. It is hands down the best massage we have ever had and we have both had massages all over the world. Lovely surprise in this amazing place. We booked 20 minutes in advance and the staff was really friendly nice and kind. We thought you could pay by card but unfortunately was not possible. One lady from the staff brought us to the nearest cash point.it was very nice from her.the owner of the place is sardinian but a lovely Moroccan girl is taking care of the business as a manager. The mother of the owner (Susanna) was also there and she also treated me and my husband very well. We asked her advice about where to go in essaouira and she decided to go and show us the open market. Me and my husband wanted to experience a traditional hammam in the heart of Medina and were not disappointed. The place is indeed very old but calm and clean. There was no other clients while we were there so we had the whole place for just two of us. First you’ll change your clothes in a changing room where they give you a pair of disposable underwear (barely big enought to cover your private parts!), plastic flipflops and a bathrope. After that you’ll both enter the same steamroom lid with candles. The lady will soap and scrub you with a fresh cloth before leaving you rest alone for a few minutes while listening to relaxing arabic music. After that she’ll wash your hair, give another soaping and finish up with the final flush while standing. Next she offers you the bathrope, a bottle of water and takes you to upstair for the massage. Again the experience was really relaxing and professional. After the massage your clothes are delivered to you to dress up in the same massage room which was really nice. After the treatment we were offered hot minth tea with some fresh fruits. I would definitely recommend the hammam but unfortunately the manicure I had afterwards was rather a bad experience. The young girl wasn’t professional yet and even if the other lady came to continue her work, the experience left me with a bit of a bad taste. …
